TAKE PRINT SCREEN PICS WHEN USING THEM!!!

Bought my tickets for the Doves when they come to LA through Ticketbastards with the presale code... cost stated: $20 (+tacked on fees).

Recieved my tickets in the mail, and found that they charged me $25 per ticket. Check the email reciept, and it only states I bought tickets and not the price I paid.

Call to complain, and they state: Don't know what yer talking about, everyone paid $25.... I replied "well of course everyone was charged $25, so was I! But that's not the price stated I paid!"... "Sorry sir, we wouldn't do that"

Wish there was a way around these incredulous bastards....

I think it's only going to get worse with Ticketbastard and Live Nation joining together. I think the Federal Trade Commission is going to go for it if they haven't already. What did the total price of your Doves ticket?

$77 for two tickets. Ticket: $25; Venue charge: $2.50; Convience Fee: $9.60; Processing fee: $1.80

WTF is a convience fee? There's nothing convient about it. Not like you could buy tickets at the door and save some cash. I hate how they have a strangle hold on everything.

They are just touts. I can't understand why they don't come under criticism for what they do, fixing whatever prices and delivery charges to whatever they feel like, when people who punt tickets on EBay, where at least the customer fixes their own prices, are supposed to be public enemy number one.

Completely agree, Ticketmaster / SeeTickets / TicketWeb, etc - all complete bastards...

Whatever happened to just going to the venue and buying the ticket from the box office (with no fees)... When you can do that, they still have the cheek to add another fiver (for what, I fail to understand)...

I am seeing Doves at 9:30 Club on 6/6. They use Tickets.com

still not the greatest, but nowhere near as harsh.

Cost per ticket-$25

+$6 convience charge

+2 handling charge

makes $66 for two tickets

If This merger goes through, it is a complete monopoly. Ticket/Live Nation controls venues with exclusive contracts for shows, the ticket management and fees as well as merchandising, advertising.

Madonna, for example, left Warner Brothers for a music releasing/career management contract with Live Nation.

So Ticket/Live Nation would have complete control and vertical integration. From producing and marketing music, venues, artists, ticketing-all of it!

I actually admired PJ for taking action, along with other bands like Smashing Pumpkins that tried to sell tickets outside of Ticketbastard. I feel especially bad for PJ, as the fight cost them their prospective role in music, as a bunch of rip offs stole thier sound and ran with it. By the time PJ returned, thier sound was old...

This is related. I am glad I am gone from Tower Records at times like this. I was asked to sell a lot of "commodities of cool. Stuff bean counters and marketing committees thought were great money making schemes with no artistic merit.

I loved PJ taking on Ticketmaster. Now ten years later we see they were right.

Many people will be lemmings and just do as they are told and listen to "cool stuff" and see "the right TV show." Groups like Pearl Jam and others will see what is going on and try to let people make their own decisions.

if it wasnt for them it would be a lot harder to see bands in cities you dont live in.

for local ones i use bristolticketshop, for everywhere else, there's ticketbastard
