Doves were just magnificent. The 9:30 Club in DC is at 815 V Street.-a few blocks from Howard University. My buddy and I parked right near The Doves bus. Jimi actually said a hello as I walked by. Those guys seem just average blokes. Not chatty-game time-but pleasant enough.
9:30 Club is a big box with a balcony. It was a radio studio long ago (the antenna tower still stands) The main floor has the stage with sound booth at the back and bars on either side of the building. The box is 70 feet on any side. Great sight lines. I love to rest my back on the front of the sound booth and feel the vibrations as I close my eyes and listen to the music. My moments of Zen, dude. Everything is so peaceful and I know it will not last long so relish it.

Hell, there were college kids pogo-ing! I was surprised at "Ambition" ( a nice one) and that they had more than one from "Lost Souls"
At one point, Someone yells for "More Than A Feeling" So Jim sings "More than a feeling..." in his husky voice and goes "sorry my voice can't do it, mate." One of the best shows I have seen in a while.
