Can be a world class jock, barry down the social club, a re-mix king or just someone who knows how to 'rock' the crowd. Adam Freeland,a cool cat and a dude who is clued right in,spins at Fabric and blew me away with his 'Essential Mix' for Radio 1 in 98' check him out.

In the words of Mozzer

Hang the dj, hang the dj, hang the dj cos the music they constantly play says nothing to me about my life

1997, actually. But I digress. Sort-of remember this one, quite a varied mix?

Used to tape the Essential Mix religiously, but most never made it past one play. And never tape it now cos it always seems to be live mixes, ruined in the main by crowd 'participation'.

Don't really respect the cult of the DJ which has taken over the UK in the past 10 years where 20-30 Prima Donnas dominate the whole circuit, and have enough mates who play out in small venues to keep me happy if I wanna go and waste my entire weekend. Unfortunately, time seems to be much more of a premium these days and I've been out but twice this year (but then, instead, have wasted entire weekends on the Order. I never learn.)

Danny Howells, Darren Emerson or Sasha at the moment

Apart from Ray-Von, I loved Erick Morillo at Sankey's a few months back, and Electric Chair's Unabombers are *cough* 'inventive' mixers (so I've been told) but always play stuff that gets the crowd rockin', which is what counts in my humble opinion. For entertainment, you can always rely on Avalanches to mix a bit of calypso with Destiny's Child, and perhaps give themselves various injuries whilst they're at it.

Somehow I doubt that. Remember, you can pretend to be a bear, but you can't outrun a bear.

I believe a 'bear' means something entirely different in, um, gay circles..
