I'm sure they mean well and all..........but unless you can't use your common sense, don't bother. My Son was ill yesterday and today he got worse so I kept him off school.
He then got a lot worse and the symptoms were flu like. Rang school, they said they have 6 confirmed swine flu cases; rang the GP, they said ring NHS Direct - upon doing so the message said, leave a number and they will aim to call you within 4 hours. Rang the number again and pressed a different option and spoke to a real person. They then asked me loads of questions and told me to ring my GP;I said I had already rang the GP who directed me to them, so they said they would put me in a queue for a 'health advisor' to ring me back - the current waiting time for that was 10 hours! They said it would probably be best if I rang my GP...............
So, off I went again. Finally a GP rang ME back. Had a few words along the lines of this is the Government advice to GP's/hospitals etc, and yet in the end they had to deal with it anyway............... it was just an implication! NOT.
(Oh, and also unless a possible 'case' came under the banner of 'higher risk' ie., age, other medical conditions etc, they were now being advised by the HPA not to prescribe the Tamiflu jab - as despite Gordon advising us there was enough for 80% of the population - this health trust were running 'a bit low')
