Were they actually gay, or were they just friends that could never get any tail?

Not sure any of this says anything about the penquins' sexual fantasies. Getting carried away with labels here. In nature, it is normal that some males are losers and they don't get to breed. But the losers still help out in the community, why is this a reason to label them fags or breeders or whatever. Let penquins decide their own sexuality.
