What is Indietracks?
Indietracks is a unique summer festival which combines heritage trains and indiepop music, and is located in the Derbyshire countryside. Guests are free to enjoy the regular facilities of the Midland Railway Butterley such as the steam train rides, farm and museum, and enjoy a range of new and established indiepop bands.
What fucking more could you want from a summer weekend?
Off up to Derbyshire on Saturday morning for this, my only Festival of the summer. Must be the samllest of the small festivals. Last year there was about 800 punters, on a tiny site, bathed in glorious sunshine, with a steam train pootling up and down a 1 mile stretch of track all day with bands playing accoustic sets from the the gaurd's van, everyone eating organic scran from the farm up the road and getting wasted on local brew. Was like a village fete with bands.
Can't wait for this weekend, just hope the weather holds out. Think it might be a bit busier this year with a few more 'headliners' on offer - our posse has grown from 2 to 7. Most looking forward to discovering some bands I've never heard of before which will piss all over being force fed mainstream lowest-common-denominator guitar bands from the haircut indie brigade who clog up the A-list Festival circuit.
