What a load of fun these bad boys are. Anybody tried them? Did a Segway tour in San Francisco the other week and it was the most fun I'd had in yonks. Highly recommended although they're not road legal in the UK so you'll need to go abroad to try them. Someone told me they do the tours in Barcelona too.
They are used for the purposes of human transportation, much like the motor car or the bicycle. Much more fun than either of them though. 
I've never seen those in real-life so far, though. However, I've seen a news report on one certain former Prime Minister of my country attempting to ride one.
Didn't Dubya fall off one?
I've seen them cruising around Barca. Was going to have a go when I was there the other week, but I didn't.

That's what many of us are now saying...that he wrecked the middle classes---I wish he could have wrecked the Segway he was riding instead of our people.

I'm going to SF next month. How much did these cost G? Did you see any of them GPS guided cars there too?

For a security guard patroling an airport or shopping mall that is willing to pay for the Segway.
For a slightly handicapped person to get around a large campus like a university or government base, if they have the money to buy this toy.
an expensive toy to fuck around with
c'mon... a bicycle is more practical, you actually get a little exercise also, and a decent bike costs 10 times less.

The Segway worked out to be about 65 USD I think. Best money I spent the whole trip. We did the yellow GPS 'Go Car' thing you mentioned. Lot of shite. I thought it was electric but it's just a three wheel moped with yellow plastic casing round it. It's noisy as fuck, stinks of petrol, the 'guided tour' that's linked into the GPS shizzle is worse than useless (nearly ended up on the motorway) and for someone like me who had just passed their driving test less than a week earlier it wasn't the best introduction to driving on the wrong side of the road with different road priorities etc etc. And the locals hate the roads being clogged up by bams like me trying to figure out where I'm going while pulling all sorts of illegal road manouvers. Have I sold this to you yet?
Me and the daughter had a scoot round on a pair these last year,on circuit they have laid out in Great Yarmouth,which inevitably turned into some competitive racing,which I kept winning,natch....
They were so much fun we went on them again and again and again...Thoroughly recommended
They should bomb in a similar way to the Sinclair C-5 because you look a total cunt on them,obviously...But they are a good laugh.

bike riding in 100 degree weather is a bitch.
Obviously an American thing, anything to avoid excercise.
Have they a tray to hold a Big Mac and a Coke?
There was a girl whizzing round on one at Summercase last year. I remember marvelling at it when she jumped off. I could not work out why it didn't fall over.
