Just a thought in response to Cambo stating he is a "superbly fat cunt" got me thinking, Are we all fat bastards, or is it just Steve?

I know BMI is not a great indicator, given that a body builder would be classed as over weight, but I doubt we have many body builders.

You don't have to state your exact BMI if you don't want, but as I've been on a health kick all year, I'll proudly state mine, 23.5

if you need somewhere to check it try here

Bloody high I'd say, I've met few skinny cunts from this place.

Doesn't BMI come from the same era of medicine as the four humours, leeches etc?

It's one small part of a test that used to be used by the military to judge average fitness, not to be used alone, but everyone does, having a average BMI is in no way stating that you are healthy and unlikely to have a heart attack, just like being flexible doesn't mean you're fit, I work with an obese woman who can do the splits! not that you'd want to see that, or clean the floor afterward!

28.9!

According to this, i'm now merely overweight as opposed to being obese!

Is this an accurate gauge of anything though? If I've got a 'healthy weight' I don't need to worry about anything else? Nonsense.

Leather Girl, you need to eat more pies. Get down the konbini and buy yourself a nice Fray Bentos 'Steak & Kidney'. One of them a night and you'll be pushing 18.0 in no time.

I eat normally but I don't seem to gain weight...but as my pics on Facebook attest, I look OK.

As I said it's not an accurate indication of whether you're healthy, just a weight/height guide, you could be the perfect weight but an alcoholic, chain smoking coke fiend, you aint gonna be healthy!

Eimi, make the most of it, you're in your early twenties, a few years time it'll catch up, listen to the intro to Carter USM's Surfin' USM

Sorry about the video, it's the only non live version of the track I could find!

Haha... I know it's not an accurate thing but it's interesting to see the numbers anyway,

Thinking of anyone in particular?

Its not really a reliable indicator of health and fitness. Many weightlifters, athletes etc report BMI readings well above 25. Its much better to measure the amount of abdominal fat - most gyms you can get this done. High Ab-fat is the leading cause of poor health in industrialised countries

I already pointed that out, I'm not trying to say how healthy we are, just whether we're a bunch of lard arses or not, which we're not so far, which is a bit of a surprise given the average age.

I think the overall result will be unfairly skewed by the rather slim ladies who visit NOOL. I've never met a female NOOLer who could be considered fat or even plump.

The guys though (me included) all seem to be sporting that essential fashion accessory - the beer gut. Maybe it's too many meet-ups and beers, maybe it's the pies, maybe it's the amount of time sitting on our arses typing crap on NOOL.

Or, in my case, probably a combination of all the above! :spit:

I used to be the same when I was your age Johnny. I was very active, I swam, ran, hiked, went to martial arts classes... Then I had to stop and suddenly, my past crept up on me. Now I'm just a sad old fat f**ker.

Your time will come... ;) :smoking:

I'm with Chris on that, but I did getting fat when I was younger, now I'm shifting it.

Chris you have a BMI of 21.9, how do yuo make out you're fat, unless that was a typo and it's 219!!

Health problems stopped me exercising Jed - massive Deep Vein Thrombosis. I couldn't walk for a few weeks and occasionally have difficulty now.

My BMI might have been 19.9 if I wasn't carrying this "rubber ring" around with me constantly!

I'm sorry to hear that...but you don't look or seem fat in the profile pics I've seen on Facebook. And I know people with low numbers like me might skew this NOOL poll.

Depends on whether you do drugs or burgers.
