F.A.O. Spotnick!!! (technical probs)

Hey Nic,

I emailed you a couple of days ago but not sure if you received anything in your inbox as I haven't heard back from you. (I assume the address is correct = nleblanc@spotnick.com. I also sent you an email to : nleblanc@neworderonline.com.)

All it is is that I don't know why I'm getting the same error message each time I try to upload my new pic for my profile. I've ensured the pic is below 400 x 400 pixels as you recommend and is saved as a JPEG .

But I just get this message each time I hit the upload image button:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a004c'Path not found/upload .asp, line 129

...written exactly as above.

I keep trying at different times of the day - thinking it might be due to a busy server, but as of today I have still had no luck in getting the new pic uploaded. Can you check what the problem is please? Any help would be much appreciated!

J'ai une autre question pour toi, Nic. Il y a un peu plus d'un mois, j'ai remplacé mon Windows 98 par Windows Me, à la maison, et j'ai abandonné ma connexion 56kb au profit d'une connexion ADSL. Depuis lors, je n'ai plus accès à NewOrderOnline.com, et j'en suis réduit à me connecter au bureau. C'est le seul site qui ne fonctionne plus (Internet Explorer ne semble plus le trouver!). As-tu déjà rencontré des problèmes semblables? Sais-tu si ce problème provient de Windows Me, d'Internet Explorer (je n'ai peut-être plus la même version, mais il me semble quand même que c'est la version 6) ou de ma connexion ADSL? Ou encore du FireWall Norton que j'ai installé?

Il ne retourne pas d'erreur: il cherche le site pendant de longues minutes, avec la barre de progression en bas à gauche qui avance horriblement lentement. Il me semble que j'ai une fois eu la patience d'attendre et qu'à la fin il me disait qu'il ne trouvait pas le site, masi je n'en suis pas sûr. Je vais tenter d'effacer le cookie et recommencer, on verra bien.

I suppose eventually however, this problem will need addressing - cos a while ago Shuglet and Hank Wiseass sent me some of their JPEGS to upload on my profile as they too were having problems uploading the images onto the threads but even there I couldn't get their files to upload on my profile pic - so it must have been the same problem affecting me then as it is now.....

Ben , though my french leaves much to be desired if I read correctly you replaced 98 with ME. I had tons of problems with ME. I first used Win 2000 and just last week I went to Win XP. I would suggest reverting to 98 or going for 2000 or XP.

I must say that since I upgraded to Win Me, my computer works much better than with Win 98 version 2. Actually, access to www.neworderonline.com is the only problem I'm facing! The problem may be one of my new internet provider; I doubt it could be caused by my version of Windows. I didn't have time to try Nic's tricks yesterday evening, but that cookie thing may be the origin of the problem.

Well sir, good luck and god speed. :) If ME works for you, more power to you. Definitely didn't work for me.:( And Microsoft doesn't have me working for commission anymore anyway. ;)
