The last one technically isn't a 2009 album rather a compilation. It was a bit of an electro education as they were a blind spot to me previously though I'm liking the tunes. Loads of Orbital nutters on here I believe 
Bad Lieutenant's début would get an honourable mention in a top ten as I do like it but wouldn't wanna be accused of NO fan-related nepotism 
Not a perfect album but if they'd streamlined the track listing and maybe poured some more money into the production it would've been brilliant; as it stands it's alright and still on reasonable iPod rotation.
Slight disappointments of the year include Morrissey's effort (same pub rock/different year, new collaborators or retirement now shirley?) and Pet Shop Boys (a few good pop songs and remixes but only a few).
If you haven't bought the Maps album yet... geddit 
My top 5 are (in no particular order):
The Sisters Of Transistors - At The Ferranti Institute Homelife - Exotic Interlude Maps - Turning The Mind (cheers, Ally, for that one!) Daudmau5 - For Lack Of A Better Name (cheers, Bert, for that one!) Simian Mobile Disco - Temporary Pleasure (it's grown on me)
Don't really rate the Bad Lieutenant album - like the first 4 songs, then it all gets a bit meh... However, I'm perservering with it.
The Sisters Of Transistors and Homelife albums are unlikely to appear on other people's albums of the year, however I like them! :p
Looking forward to the new LCD Soundsystem Album and the new A Guy Called Gerald album (both, apparently, out in March). Also, the Chems are apparently readying new material for release:
"but the brothers are indeed coming back and we'll be bringing you a ton of new news - leading up to new music - very soon, so stay "tuned"."
So, you never know...
