Its just dawned on me that its been ten years since I first started buying Private Eye. Havent missed an edition in that time.
Admittedly, its quite a simple format which updates itself with the news. But I do find it remarkable that it is so consistent in its quality.
Is anyone else a fan?
I read it on occasion, but have never subscribed. It's one of those publications where you need to have a fair amount of time to sit down and appreciate the content, isn't it?
Quite surprising that they're still going after all the law suits!
But I bet they don't scrutinise how companies can outsource thousands of jobs to the far east, where governments are a soft touch on human rights. Oh, and all the fossil fuels that get wasted by shipping materials to-and-from other continents, when the work could just as easily be done at home.

Have you ever actually read Private Eye? 
They've covered both of your topics (long ago) and are the nearest thing one could currently get to a socially responsible publication in the UK.

Nah I think it's a fairly reasonable read Chris; I dipped in and out of an issue at work most lunchtimes and breaks. It's by no means time consuming unless you're literally tied up for each and every minute of every day 
I read it for the jokes and the stitching up of the rags. Street of Shame and the Victor Lewis-Smith column are my favourites. Can't say I give too much a shit about their approach social responsibility; it's just an interesting read for those who find the usual dailies and some of the broadsheets complete wank.
The day the Eye starts smugly preaching at people is the day it'll be finished.

I still find it amusing that Lewis-Smith used to write for The Evening Standard among others.
I suppose the guy has to make a living though!
