Funkin love the Human league. The early albums were superb and I still listen to them on a regular basis

Heaven 17's Penthouse and Pavement was utter class as well....

I just watched a couple of the others with that la roux bint and I can't see why they bothered with her, glen has a great voice, she has the weakest voice in the room, the backing singers are miles better than her, I don't get it, she can't sing, she's pretty ugly, has stupid hair and looks a total narky bitch, am I missing something?

I love that album Penthouse and Pavement -they came to do a pa in our local record shop and a few of the kids from school took the afternoon off to meet them.I wussed out cos I had an exam or something to do but they got my records signed. Hey, we didn't get many bands coming to our town...

Many years later a guy I was working with happened to mention that his brother was a session guitarist and his wife sang on Penthouse and Pavement.Josie Jones I think.

Has anyone else heard the 'You're my baby' track the Human League played live when they toured with DARE. They never released it but it is a classic :D

It's a bit dissapointing to see Heaven 17 jumping on this nostalgia train, doing the 80's festivals and tours etc. They're worth so much more than that. Remember, they never toured at all during the height of their popularity. They said that playing live was 'old fashioned'. Now they're playing alongside T'Pau and Rick Astley in the likes of Swindon and Winchester on dodgy revival tours.

The reason they did the thing with La Roux is basically because without riding on her coat tails they'd never get that kind of exposure on the BBC given that they've not released anything of any worth in over 25 years! Simple. And her voice is fucking amazing! How can it be described as 'weak'. Check her out doing 'Temptation' with them. Very, very powerful, especially considering she's singing falsetto.

Just found this, it's quite interesting seeing martyn ware talking about this as I thought he didn't really talk about pre H17 stuff. interesting from a techy nerd point of view as to the instruments used too.

But his new version sounds a bit cheesey!

I was a huge fan of both the Human League and Heaven 17. I've dug out the CD's tonight and put them on my iPod. Looking forward to hearing them again.

Loved the early League, but it all went downhill for me after Dare/Love and Dancing.
