The angle is to have a "serious" take unlike the unintentional campiness of the original. From the looks of it, the gore and such has been upped, as well as the story revamped. The Angry Video Game Nerd(James Rolfe) will be playing a part, so it'll be nice to see him in it. The site also seems to be back up.

Just another kind of "how to make money with a mediocre movie which nobody would care to watch if there wasn't a slight link to a famous other cult movie."
