And Jonathan Woss's replacement is?

Claudia Fcuking Winkleman?

:wtf:

Mark Kermode must be kicking himself. :(

Linky thingy

Could they not come up with someone less irritating? Does she actually know anything about anything anyway? Films would be a good start I suppose..........

I'm a bit surprised by that.

Having said that, I'm not sure who I'd choose as a replacement.

I'm glad it's not Kermode. He is really fucking annoying. I guess this is an (arguably long overdue) attempt to make it less of a boys own club. The BBC has previously employed people who were both engaging and really knew their stuff (Alex Cox, Mark Cousins) and never gave them a shot at this flagship programme. Bazza Norma always had an air of authority even when he was talking bollocks: I guess he casts a long shadow.

Does anyone really choose what they watch on the basis of this show anyway??

I just watch whatever Mark Kermode tells me to watch. :(

He reminds me of the original Mark Fowler in Easties.

Good job the BBC aren't as sexist as you olf :nono:

Let's see what she can do, I thought Alex Zane or even Johnny Vaughan.

Tick people off for sexism and then tout yet another two blokes? Plus, Alex Zane is probably the most profoundly irredeemable human being on the planet. I'd rather they got Bin Laden to do it. Or Phil fucking Brown - he needs a job!

I seriously doubt that the beeb are less sexist that myself, I only said she was shite because she is!, not because she is a woman. but please enlighten me as to her qualities as a film critic, or anything else for that matter?, oh hang on, she bought a house next to a cinema, well, that's my argument buggered....

Not a fan of the winkleman, i'm suprised none of the TV execs have never told her to chop her fringe off, shes so irritating constantly flicking her hair about out of her face, tie it back or get it cut love!!

Apparently Kermode really didn't want it.

Isn't Winkleman's loftiest achievement in television co-hosting "Strictly Come Dancing" or something? I think I witnessed her presenting skills while channel surfing one bored evening and she just seemed like a gossip-schleb-vain-hollow-yapping type presenter. In that case, I can see exactly why the BBC chose her; to bring in more viewers who like said dancing show and get pissed on white wine while dancing around their living room to "Mamma Mia" for the gazillionth time.

I think we all know the BBC's really gone to shit in the past few years. BBC3 in particular is a shade of it's former self and aside from my namesake's political comedy (The Thick Of It) I can't think of any program I regularly watch on the BBC as a whole any more. Channel 4's leagues ahead in almost every aspect.

Oh, to refute any "sexism" angle I would much rather have seen Lauren Laverne formerly of The Culture Show doing Film. She can be a bit irritating in the same manner as Kermode but at least she knows her stuff... and doesn't have an absurd fringe.

Good call, Ally. I would very much like to lick the sweat from Lauren Laverne's inner thigh. I do not feel the same about Mr Kermode.

That is all.

She's royalty now, Al.

Though obviously not for Johnson:

From what I've seen,he's not even the most profoundly irredeemable 'Zane' on the planet, yet. That would still be Zane Lowe, surely a cretin without equal?

What's sexy-voice Mariella Frostrup doing these days? She did a good job on The little Picture Show. She must have had her hat in for this?

I like Kermode. He is very interesting. If you like his stuff check his reviews out on the web. He is interviewing Kevin Spacey who does a few impressions, (his Christopher Walken is very good btw)

I hated Woss. He is a complete cock who knows fuck all about films. Claudia also probably knows fuck all about films, which is why she got the job. Or maybe its just that she'd get it.

Laverne would get it too, wonky eye or not.

Alex Cox, however, would not get it :nonono:

I thank you.

im confused, is that really her little sis? and is it really her from peep show? surely not, because she would deffoe get it, a thought that im sure wouldnt fill her with much pleasure, but claudia is just a pain in the ring, and out of it come to think of it.
