I gave up after Series 3.

A brief precis, if you please...

Have really enjoyed the series,characters,and sorry it's over.But I thought the ending was a piss-take for all those who have been following it for 6 seasons. Did they die in the plane crash,or on the island? Would saving the island have made the slightest difference to them going to heaven,or was "Locke" preventing the lost souls from being laid to rest? Or was Jacob keeping them alive to rid the island of his "smoky brother",till they did the deed?

Great seeing them altogether at end,including Shannon and bro,and Libby,and Charlie. But where was Eko,and Michael?

And how come Penny was dead? She wasn't on the island!!

So was every question going back to S01E01 answered in a plausible manner? or was I right?

(don't misunderstand, I don't always expect a series to have a perfect wrap-up....but things like Lost and Heroes rely entirely on the "come back next week to find out" tactic, but never seem to deliver the goods)

Have it on the DVR and haven't watched the lat episode yet. Son has his baseball series going and they are playing every day... and Lost is a family event.

So far the ending seems very rushed. Seems like it needed at least five more episodes, but the season doesn't have time for it or something.

Here"s the ending I would have used. Jack would have come out of the shower....no not that ending.Jacob was a doctor who was keepimg comatose patients in stasis aka VANILLA SKY only with linked consciousdness in order that they bring each other out of it.The island was all a freefall delusion which got more elaborate as it got along,WiDMoRE was the doctor who wanted to pull the plug on them because of a misuse of taxpayers money. But Jacob wins the day by bringing them all out...bar one...Jack. In his mind he'd chosen to stay. Oh and guess what....the stasis tubes all had numbers on them......

At least it would have excused the long running subplots about time travel and electro magnetism, because it wad all a frefall delusion created by not one mind, b ut several coma patients.

i missed most of the last season, so i didn't watch the finale. i'm catching up on abc.com.

Lost left us with a bit of a ‘fill in the missing blanks yourself’ conclusion.

I think everyone died in episode one and The Island was purgatory. The ‘survivors’ were a collection of lost souls, who bumped into a whole other host of lost souls, who all helped each other to resolve in sudden death what they hadn’t in life. Once they resolved their issues, they were eligible to pass through the pearly gates, or in this case, the light, into heaven. So that’s what the light was, and carrying on with that train of logic, the black smoke must have been the devil. The devil obviously wasn’t happy being trapped in purgatory (by angel Jacob?) and was probably doing his best to elbow his way into a war with heaven… or on Earth. I guess that when he ‘died’ he just went screaming back to Hell?

Nice idea, but the producers have been denying and strongly against the island being purgatory.. they have been saying the island isn't since season 2.

They all died later (except for those who had died on the series). Jack's father tells him at the coffin in the last episode that everything that happened on the island happened, so the island isn't purgatory or hell or some post-death state. The sideways reality of this season was the place they had all created in their post-death psyche so they could find one another again later after they had all died -- so Kate and Claire, Ben Hurley all lived on some extent after Jack died. Since they were the most important people to each other, they all met up and saw each other as they were on the island before moving on. Imperfect, but certainly not a bad way to wrap it up, IMHO

Its the second worst programme of all time after 24
