So, it was announced today that Iran has developed an unmanned flying bomb. The picture that was shown of the weapon reminded me of something. But, I couldn't put my finger on it. Then, it came to me! After a quick check on the net - yes, the new Iranian super weapon is indeed almost an exact replica of...(wait for it)........ a V-1 "buzz bomb". Props to the Iranians for developing their own version - 70 years later!

Seen a tomahawk or any other cruise missile lately?

At least they developed their own....you lot just nicked all the Nazis and made them take you to the moon.....or are you gonna say the SaturnV was designed by an American? (technically I believe uncle Werner may have been naturalised by that point).

Easy there, Doc. You'll get no argument from me (this time).

I'm well aware of the contributions and leadership of WVB (and other assorted ex-Nazis) in our space program. As you know, the same can be said of the Soviet/Russian program. The only difference was WVB and friends wanted to come to the States whereas the poor souls who went east had to be persuaded.

As for the Iranians "developing" this weapon "on their own", I think the proper term to use (and I should have also) should be "built".

They went a bit further than that, but nothing to trouble sleep in Europe i suspect. Could do some serious damage in Israel though... I think the V1s targetted from France killed around 25,000 in Southern England. They did very well until we developed a listening strategy on the Dover coast and then sent out spitfires to chase them down.

The article said the range is somewhere between 400-450 miles.
