Here it is, but I don't have a lot to say. Not much happened again, as far as I can remember.
Band member of the year for me goes to Steve Morris, who continues to take a serious interest in Joy Division's legacy and back catalogue and some lovely items and experiences have come this year - of course I'm talking about the incredible event in Macclesfield and the wonderful single re-issues, and the expectation that this serious work will continue into the coming years.
Fair play to Hooky as well, for that incredible night in February and generally for keeping a different type of faith. The job of a New Order fan has changed over the years and to appreciate what's going on these days you have to be able to ignore the terrible and appreciate the echoes of what's left. Seeing Hooky belt out those songs... well, I loved it for what it was.
The real reason for this post, as well as to encourage you all to nominate your own heroes of the year, was to say a very heartfelt personal thank you to two people who I know prowl around here and did enormous favours for me several times over the last twelve months.
Thanks guys, I'll never forget what you did
