Recently got a shedload of films copied off a mate. Started wading through em over the weekend. First up was Machete. I recall the fake trailer for this on the Planet Terror film from a few years back but hadn't known it had actually now been made into a full movie. A bit mad that one.But good.

Skyline - i'd heard this one was absolute pants but i had a watch anyway. Despite it being a bit unimaginitive, derivative, and all a bit silly i found it, surprisingly, actually not that bad.Seen much worse.

I've got The Human Centipede in the folder. Not watched it yet and not entirely sure i bloody want to :uhoh: . From what i gather it's one of the sickest movies ever.Anyone had the displeasure of seeing this one?

Cemetary Junction - isn't Ricky Gervais behind that one? Sounds like it might be interesting.Any good?

Probably best avoided. It's really shit. I was quite surprised at how utterly shit it was. One joke in the entire thing and that's only funny cos it uses the C word in a totally inappropriate situation. Looking back, I'm not even sure it was supposed to be a comedy, or not? I'm not sure the film even knew itself.

That Human Centipede puts me right off. No way could I watch that. See also A Serbian Film.

I watched Wake Wood at the weekend. Good British/Irish cast but very low-budget. Some of the gore scenes should've just been left out rather than attempting to show something horrific - Dr Who did special effects better back in the 70's, and that's saying something.

I'm looking forward to Neds coming out on DVD (well, DVDRIP) though. That looks well nawty.

Got NEDS ages ago. You'll enjoy it, was a bit dissapointed with Mullen's arty ending though, it should have been blood and guts till the death.

I went on a mad film spree, but they were instantly forgettable, hence me not remembering them. I do remember the Kings Speech though, not quite sure what that says about me?

Go for it, I've set ye's up.....

Cinema Paradiso is one of my all time favourite films - anybody seen it? It's Italian. And it's very very moving and funny but also quite sad too.

I watched 'Dead Mans Shoes' again recently stuck '24 HPP' on after it cos of the Paddy Considine connection,first id watche '24HPP' for a long time

Edit: Saw 'Hot Fuzz' for the first time the other night, didnt realise Considine was in that as well

Good film, but some of the drugged out scenes in the middle, and the suspension of what was gonna happen next, are just a bit too much.

You reckon Al, Some of the flashback scenes are a bit 'heavy' but i think Tony Kebbel (Rob Gretton in 'Control') plays the part of 'Anthony' brilliantly.

That's what I meant. I couldn't watch those scenes again, way too heavy. Let's face it, we've all been in that state at some time, just not with a bloke who intends to murder us. Made me feel quite ill just watching that.

I watched London Boulevard at the weekend. Shit name for a film, but a good film never the less. Ray Winstone back in nutter mode, and Anna Friel swearing like a trooper (she's quite foxy when she swears).

Then the father-in-law was up last night so made do with something which didn't have quite so much nawty language. Season of the Witch, which was a nice enough idea (Teutonic Knights battling the powers of darkness), but didn't have nearly enough special effects to boost a rather simplistic tale.

Funnily enough, Stephen Graham was in both of these. He is in facking everything at the moment, isn't he?

I saw You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger recently,Anna Friel had a minor role in it,she is looking good for someone who was in Brookside maybe 18 years ago. As for the film itself,it was typical enough Woody Allen fair with Anthony Hopkins going through an old age crisis and running off with a call girl,and Josh Brolin miscast as a failed writer who wrecks the marriage plans of a much younger woman with his yank charm.It does feature a good scene involving Hopkins trying to explain to his call girl that he needs 3 minutes of foreplay before getting down to business,why 3 minutes? Thats how long it takes for Viagra to take effect(apparently).

Monsters - I liked this one. A lot more restrained, intelligent, brain engaging, and thought provoking than yer average Alien invasion yarn.

Likeable characters as well.

Not so much a movie,but I've been looking forward to the new HBO series 'Game of Thrones' starting. Started on Monday and slipped by me,so I'm downloading the first chapter now.

It looks class.High hopes for this baby. :nod:

Quite fancy the Ray Winstone one,might try and get it for my days off

I like Stephen Graham,anytime ive seen him he plays his part well.
