Best thing on telly at the moment?

Liking Pyschoville, but equally never cared overly for LOG... Biggest disappointment recently has been Campus... Really struggled to like this, which is a shame as I loved Green Wing... You're right about the Apprentice, Al... Never actively set out to watch it, but can never quite drag myself away when the missus has it on and being the only male working in a department of women, I have to have something I can talk to them about...

I've watched The Shadow Line from the start, and it's fantastic, cliff hanger at the end of each episode, and very mysterious, even if you've watched them all it's confusing, but in a good way.

not watching much else though.

I find myself watching less and less TV so have to do a lot of catching up with box sets. Been belatedly ploughing through all these recently; each great stuff in their own way (lead actresses in first two shows a major bonus, obv.):

It's really really good, with a fantastic cast. Building up to be a classic.

Rafe Spall seemed particularly unhinged for someone who isn't particularly menacing.

It actually picks up after that. Episodes 2 & 3 feature a menacing Stephen Rea, who has been a bit underrated in the past.

Still stand by this, in that it could be the best thing BBC has produced for years.

On the plus side Stewart Lee made me cackle a lot more t'other day.

The Walking Dead was pretty good. Considering it was a TV show it didnt shy away from blood and guts. Perhaps not scare-you-shitless but well made.

Still can't get enough of the Shadow Line. We even got a new slightly mental character this week. Acting all round is sublime.

Doh! It is series 4... Some maths problems there.

I think Matt Smith is great as the doctor and although there is still some timey wimey excess, I think the show has improved with the re-re brand. Things were getting a bit toooo silly towards the end of RTD's reign.

Game of Thrones - Betrayal,honour,love,power struggles,fragile alliances,mysterious as yet to be fully revealed demon creatures,it's building up to an all mighty war.Plus it's got a brilliant dwarf in it,who cleverly plays on his rich and powerful family connections to his great advantage.

The Shadow Line - Loving it.Passed me by at first so I block viewed the lot and now I can't wait to see how all the strands fit together.Riveting.

Got a whole stack of downloaded first season gear which I may make a start on watching some day,including....

24 - Season 1 Generation Kill. Entourage - Season 1 Mad Men - Season 1 Camelot. The Walking Dead. Ivanhoe- Mini series.

Quite like the look of Breaking Bad after reading some good reviews on IMDb.I'll probably give that a go.

You've got some good stuff there - it'll take an age to get through Entourage and 24 alone.

Am I the only person ever to just not get Mad Men? My better half likes it and I watched a few but just couldn't get into the swing of tings. That red-headed bird is just gorgeous though. But even her couldn't keep me interested.

Watched the first Game of Thrones last night. Thought first five mins were brilliant (and bloody) then it just seemed to turn into another fantasy yarn. Will persevere though, as a lot of folk are raving about it. You saying we don't see them demons again for a while then Boaty? Shame.

Yeah, "Mad Men" looks great and kudos for the attention to period detail, but fuck me backwards it is slight. And obvious. (Ambitious young women in the workplace - watch out men, here comes second wave feminism (DUH!!). Casual racism no longer acceptable 'cos we live in the post Civil Rights era (DUH!!) Everyone's smoking dope, 'cos here comes the counterculture (DUH!!)).

It's very watchable but, I mean, DUH!!

"Camelot" is the worst-acted big-budget show I've seen for ages. Fucking awful. However, it does star the spectral Eva Green doing her patented "I'm-a-mad-goth-bitch-and-I-always-get-my-(magnificent)-tits-out"-thang, so it's more than worth watching. At least her and Fiennes understand how preposterous the whole thing is and camp it up a bit. ;)

Well, that was bleak, wasn't it? I don't think I've been so thoroughly depressed at the ending of the series.

I read that the main lad's 'bullet scars' on his head are actually proper scars he got as a kid when he was in a car crash with his father. The crash killed his father.

Jezus wept, even the stars have had thoroughly bleak lives. :(

And a second series isn't going to involve two of the people in that picture.

Personally i thought it was excellent all round. If there is a second series one wonders what 'thesps' they'll bring in to bump off, now that most of the cast list has been 'dispatched'.

I loved it too, I can't see there being a second series though, all the mystery has gone, it was weird that the two main people you'd have thought would come out of it ended up dead. I was a little dissapointed with the ending, I don't know how it could have been better, but that's why I'm not a writer!

Mad Men is a slow burner. I can't figure out whether January Jones is a really bad actress or purposely plays the character 'wooden'.Seasons 1-3 were actually quite good but 4 was just plain depressing and dull.
