Yes, it does sound like New Dawn Fades. I wonder if Bernard or Ian had ever heard of that band?

Never heard that before, that song is full of energy and ideas. 1973!

I can see the similarity, it's a great track too, good find.

It's not inconviebale that Ian and co might have heard of them... I remember reading something about them before - a review of a reissue of what little they did produce as a band (one single and a handful of demos, it would seem), but for all the obscurity, that single (which had the track in question as the b-side) would have come out at around the right time to influence or have an impact on at least an idea for a riff...
