I absolutely, totally love 'I Want it That Way' by the Backstreet Boys. I could listen to it over and over again.
And 'Arthur's Theme' (If You Get Caught Between the Moon and New York City) by Christopher Cross. Top song!
I'm afraid I'd have to say "Human" by the Human League. That one makes me really sad, sorry to say!
i have TWO (count them) samantha fox 45s in my 'junior high school collection', which also includes 'human', 'forever live and die' by OMD and 'wanted: dead or alive' by bon jovi. classics, all of them. bon jovi if only for the line 'i've seen a million faces, and i've ROCKED THEM ALL!'
i used to have the tiffany tape, but i unraveled it and put it into a fan. the night before my first new order concert, wouldn't you know it!

ok, shugsy, regarding what you mistakenly put on the PiL site in your drug-induced euphoria (while i was sitting at home nerding on the computer, i might add :() YMCA's a great song, i have their greatest hits CD (perfect for when you're DJing at a party and everyone listens to crap music. just throw on some village people and the crowd goes wild!). not quite as sophisticated as 'macho man', i feel, but it has it's moments. but five? wow. i'm impressed. that's the best i've heard yet.

how can you be ashamed about liking paul simon? he's one of the greatst singer-songwriters of the past 50 years! i listen to simon and garfunkel all the time. and 'graceland', too. and what's wrong with liking classical? i like mozart the best. 'requiem' makes me cry it's so beautiful. so does JT's 'fire and rain' for that matter.

ahh...we have a band like that as well...what are they called...o-town...they were playing in a Wal-mart parking lot last year when I was in Shreveport, LA....unfortunately, I missed this one...sad but true!!!

I'm not really ashamed to admit I like this song, I just never hear it anymore: Can't remember the artist or the title, but it's about some guy teaching a girl to be "insensitive" (Indeed, that may very well be the title). Anyone know what I'm talking about? I imagine this was the Alanis-wannabe's only hit, it was real big in the early 90's
I dunno if there is anything more embarassing than liking cheesy europop songs from the 80's. but I admit loved the stuff when I was a kid, and still listen to the stuff now, when I'm home alone, with my headphones on.

oi, stearsman! i DO NOT like madame celine or the backalley boys, only the respective songs i mentioned by them. JT, on the other hand...now he's a classic folk singer. i mean, 'you've got a friend'? i know it was written by the frizzy-haired queen of the early '70s, carole king, but he sings it like buttah. makes me all veklempt. and i've actually seen the man himself! i used to row against his and carly simon's daughter at boarding school and then at college, and they used to come to the races (not together though--the divorce thing). it was pretty exciting!

Think it was Jan Arden, or something like that. All I know is that the secretaries kept telling the guys that we should listen to that song. (like that was gonna change anything).
I liked that Hall and Oates song that sounded quite a bit like the Byrds, "How Does It Feel To Be Back".

during my 5 year reunion, which was former prez bush's 55th, i had a HARDCORE hangover on the second day. during the 'parade of the classes' i had my pic taked with said mr. bush, his arm around me and all. suddenly, i felt the sudden need to vomit in the most serious way. i started to gag, but managed to hold it down until i was well clear of the crowd. in retrospect, i should have let myself go. i could have been in all the papers! i was going to do it this year during my 10th, but i couldn't afford to make it up there.

not convinced about the greens. actually, i got pissed in the atlanta airport with a bunch of people going to the green party conference a few years ago. i'm liberal, but i'm not as liberal as the greens, to be honest. we did have a good debate, though. i don't think the political parties are a joke, but i'm glad to see more parties getting involved, like in european countries. bi-partisanship is a bit boring, after all. i just agree with the democratic platform, for the most part. hence, i'm a democrat.

I'm not ashamed of any of the music I like, but with the mainstream tastes of my friends and just about everyone else around me, I certainly have to keep 'in the closet' about a lot of the music I like, including New Order. It isn't often that I'll be riding in my friends car or hanging out with our friends at his apartment, listening to Shaggy, or Dave Mathews Band, that someone will say, "Hey, Jason, put on some Joy Division."

i see what you mean. i, for one, refuse to let dave matthews be played anywhere within earshot. they listen to that mealy-mouthed (yet highly attractive, i must say) bore-fest, yet don't let you put on some JD? get on in there, mate! toss that shaggy right out and slap some NO on the stereo when no one's looking! expand some people's tastes! i've made this one of my missions in life, and i've succeeded quite handsomely with several people.
