Damon "Sting" Allbran....

This guy is either a very gifted and mercurial talent with a flair and hunger for trying out all kinds of musical styles and never playing it safe for very long or he is an insufferably pretentious and precocious imposter of the highest order - hijacking every new musical trend he can possibly get his sweaty mitts and and passing it off as his own original work with as much elan and credibility as Sting at his most sanctimonious and preachy.

I've just been watching him on that weekly muso-fest with Jools Holland tonight (for want of anything better to do before turning in for the night) and he just comes across as such an unbelievably smug know-it-all it's painful.

As for the 'music' he performed tonight under his umpteenth new artistic nom de plume (Dr Dee Folk Opera - I ASK YOU!!!) - what a load of utter pants.

Makes you wanna scream out for Country House again.

Maybe the guy is still so guilty about THAT particular episode he's finding it hard to live it down, hence his overcompensating by all these ridiculous extra curricular projects, just so, like, to remind us all that he is a....gasp...... SERIOUS ARTIST[E].....
