The only thing thats pissed me off about Jimmy Carr and his tax evasion is that he's caved and announced he's going to stop doing it. Which cant be said for all of the other evaders who wont. Equally, most of Camerons millionaire mates dont need to bother evading tax as the government is working hard to make sure they pay less anyway.

What a stupid statement. So it's ok for Jimmy Carr to pay 1% tax instead of 40%, but not ok for anyone else? Jimmy Carr has ended up looking like a twat ,because he went on TV taking the piss out of folk who avoid paying tax.

Of course its not OK but look whats happened? Theres a load of attention on Carr, what a twat etc, but no attention on the fact the chancellor is doing nothing to prevent rich people doing things like this (rich people with political influence). Jimmy Carrs flat face will forever appear in news articles regarding tax evasion now even though hes the tip of a very big iceberg.

Also, it appears that the PM is more than happy to slag off Carr but wont do the same for the recently honoured Sir Gary Of Barlow C.U.N.T. I wonder why that would be? Could it be because Gazza is a well known supporter of the Tory party?

Dont fall for it. This has nothing to do with stopping rich tossers avoiding Tax its all about appearing to.

Why don't we all just do away with Tax Havens altogether?

Remember the four magic words:

MORALLY, LEGALLY, PEACEFULLY and DEMOCRATICALLY...

Jimmy caved in because otherwise he was going to loose goodwill from a number of fans who earn less than him and pay more tax. He quite understandably doesn't want to bite the hand that feeds. But to focus on someone because they are famous and try to shame them for doing something within the law seems like cheap politics. I'm sure other non-famous people do this stuff, but they didn't get a mention from the Prime Minister. Did Jimmy make a joke about MP's expenses at some point, and this is the payback? If there's a problem with the tax laws, the government would do well to get things in order rather than to point at an individual and say "He's bad". Talk about mis-direction! David Copperfield would be proud. But its not for the PM to engage in showbiz jibes, or try to out-do Jimmy Carr in the 'put-down' steaks. I think it makes Cameron et al look desperate and silly. And let's be really honest here. Who wouldn't want to pay less tax if they could do so legally?

BBC Political correspondent Nick Robinson agrees with you in this tweet

"Bring back O levels, attack Jimmy Carr's tax avoidance, defend the Falklands - attempt to reverse damage of omni shambles perchance?"

I read an interesting quote recently from an "extremely prominent" Tory politician from the moderate wing of the party...

"What you have to realise about the conservative party is that it is a coalition of privileged interests. its main purpose is to defend that privilege"..

...He was addressing some students, off the record obviously..

I absolutely friggin, fucking FUCKING DETEST Jimmy Fucking "Wang" Carr. He is such a fucking ugly unfunny cunt. Got a face like the proverbial Ventriloquist Doll from hell. Whatever he did with his tax evasion, I couldn't honestly give a toss either way. If he gets shit hurled at him then fine..... he deserves it.

That's not to say what he did was big or clever, but of course there is one rule for rich ceplebrities and one for those poor paupers who haven't got much to rub between them who always end up getting caught whilst the worst offenders usually get off scot free.

Isn't Jimmy Carr in Kraftwerk? [:o]

Yes, I agree. An obvious example of this is Nick (Mr Loophole) Freeman, the lawyer who specialises in getting celebrity drivers off-the-hook for speeding offences by using... loopholes... in the law. [blackeye]

Who knows though, maybe one day they'll get what they deserve. Now we've got rid of 'Double Jeopardy'...😈

Jimmy Carr isn't the only "comedian" who picks on the Welsh when he's short on material.

Jeremy Clarkson does it. Even Bily Connolly reminisces of times when "We always qualify for the World Cup. We always stuff Wales."
