i would say go to bali. of course, it's up to you. but don't let this one incident frighten you off. that's what the terrorists want! i lived in israel during the intifada and everyone keeps saying to me, 'ooh, wasn't that dangerous.' well, no, actually. it'a a hell of a lot safer than living in america, as a matter of fact, if you look at violent crime statistics! i just kept my eyes peeled and didn't walk around with a sign saying 'i hate jews/palestinians' (depending on where i was). this is an isolated incident (i hope)...people are still coming to NYC, as well they should! so i'd say still keep bali in mind. remember: terrorists depend on public fear to win, not a body count.
and i totally agree with you about iraq. an invasion would be about safeguarding american oil interests, and nothing else.
