i don't need no stinking shoes (though i do like the ribbon down the back of 'em), but it's a gorgeous, gorgeous cover of 'fade into you' (mind you, you'd have to try really hard to fuck that song up. it's got great bones). and look at that pretty picture disc!

She sang on great song called Asleep From Day on Chemical Brother's 1999 album Surrender.

Ms Sandoval also sang on this, which i remember buying on 7" and playing a lot at the time.

I was lucky enough to catch Mazzy Star in Summer 2012 at the Field Day festival in London's Victoria Park. They played a marquee right at the the end of the day - just as the good weather turned into a soggy mess. I'm so glad they weren't on an outdoor stage. I couldn't tell from the lighting how well she has retained her unique beauty, but she sounded good.

i saw them last year at the shep bush gig. totally dreamy, although that might have been partly down to the haze of sunshine and booze. some real heart-stopping moments.
