The others are all rubbish but harmless [er, except for one of them, I mean], why shouldn't they carry on? Oasis somehow seem to be actively getting in the way. Why are they so hugely rated? They've only had one more decent lp than the Stone Roses did.

I'm afraid this poll is partly out of date because Michael Jackson has already quit the music business. On 14th September 2002 NME.com published a news story headlined "The King Abdicates" in which MJ was quoted as saying "I've always wanted to do film, but the tours got in the way. That's why I want to take several years off just doing film. "I'd like to get six great movies behind me, and then I'll do a little bit of touring, then I'll do more filming"(although some elements of the story contradict each other - it seems it's not permanent retirement from the music business but a very long break from it).

Snucker, I didn't say I had some good news. However, I think it's good news...

If Michael Jackson carries on making music his new stuff (which given the way the careers of the Jacksons have gone is extremely unlikely to be any good) may be played on radio and take up valuable airtime which could be used to play better music. If Michael Jackson makes films instead they are less likely to get in the way of new talent and are easier to ignore. Besides, they'll probably go straight to video anyway.

If Michael Jackson is hard up he could always make some porn films. Insert your own joke here...

i've thought of that...but then again...you know there will be a soundtrack to this wacko jacko movie, and there's a 100% chance a new wacko jacko song will be released...thus flooding the radio waves more than ever before. especially if he does a duet with some dumb rapper.
