Christmas Shopping

Yes, it's that time of the year where you see your hard-earned paycheck be tossed around like a hacky sack at a Phish concert, slowing losing dollars like so much blood spilling from an injured fan at Woodstock 99. I have been able to avoid going into debt buying anything for my folks (less is more this year, as in the less you can afford, the more you really wish you thought of something better than a pair of muffins), but nonetheless had enough left over for a "little something" for myself ("The Last Waltz" on DVD). Who else can't resist buying something for themselves amongst the holiday crap?

certainly do this every year ...one has to reward themselves right...anyway, i'm hoping santa sends me some snowshoe equipment, them i will splurge in that area. but usually it is music or books.

during a rush of shopping I bought marvin gaye's 'midnight love' for myself.

Talk about procrastinating, starting it all tonight. Think I'll probably splurge a bit on Saturday and check to see what's on a couple of Fall CD box sets.

hmm...it's presents for immediate family and best best bestest friends...cards and candy canes for all the acquaintences. thus...budget is well under 100 bucks for christmas.

i can't understand these traditional shoppers you see on tv who buy everything for everyone and complain about stress, malls and credit cards. i don't know, i'm not christian and my family ain't big on christmas...but i truly cannot fathom how some can spend spend spend spend spend...like those people who are always in tv commercials buying sweaters and toasters for aunts and uncles.

a pair of muffins? as in the little foodstuffs you can toast, cut in half & melt some cheese in? or is this slang for something far more interesting

i treated myself to retro this year! (woohoo!) and i was even lucky enough to pick up one of the first 12000 copies with the bonus cd with the full version of elegia on it so i'll have a happy new (order) year!
