I might not be able to come, my exams are next week and if i don't pass i fail my degree.
I'll have to see how much work i have to do come friday.

By all accounts it seems like most people will find this weekend really tough, i know its your birthday and all, but Shug, perhaps we should re arrange this for another weekend when all the others can come, at the moment its me, Kez, you , Don and your cousin. Aah, I was looking forward to a bit of a piss up. I've not had a drink since Christmas because I've been poorly - I saw the New Year in with a pint of Coca-Cola! I was looking forward to undoing all the good I've done to my liver during my period of abstinence

With all due respect Melanie, Shug is a very good friend to lots of us and no one wants to let him down, as i'm sure we've all told him on the phone, however i'm sure he would prefer to celebrate properly when all his friends are around. Its not a case of people not being bothered (in fact Kez and I are still ok for it) but work, and final exams are difficult to get out of, as i'm sure you'll agree. Besides these things do happen, I clearly remember the same thing happening in August for my birthday, some can make it come can't.
surely not worth giving all Shug's close friends a slagging.

Melanie...how dare you get on us...I know we all would have loved to have met up with Shuglet...but things happen...if I wasn't being trained for a new position...I'd be getting right pissed with him and losing my passport AGAIN!!!

Spot on Jeff, its not like as if you didn't make it over earlier in the year, you have as much integrity as myself, Kez, Muffy,Steveand Timbo, there for as many piss ups as physically possible. None of us have missed one yet, inluding travelling the length and breadth of the country, or the continent in one instance!
