Too late, I already wasted the 'none of them have sufficient good songs on' line on Slowdive. Can't be used more than once, its in the rules. So I voted for the 'Masterplan'. Couple of good songs on that.
Oasis just seem so _ordinary_ though, I've never understood why they merited such a fuss.
I never hated Oasis as much as some people seem to do. OK, they may not be the most likable people, but why do you actually have to like musicians? I think they have written quite a few good songs and that's what counts in the end. I voted for What's The Story. Havent'heard their last two albums though :D
Yeah, there's a lot of good material on What's the Story. Overall, they have pretty good material, but I wouldn't want to get into a conversation with them if I ever met them. I wouldn't want to have a nervous breakdown.
Voted for Definetly Maybe which was a breath of fresh air when it was released. Some great songs combined with attitude not seen since the Roses. What's The Story I also enjoyed though subsequently have been disappointed with their later offerings.
The debut-album gets my vote. "What's the Story" has some great singles, but the debut is unbeatable.
Should have quit while they were ahead - circa "Morning Glory".

Quite simple.. Defitively Maybe didn't do it to America, so the "debut" album for us is Morning Glory.. which I have and enjoy with one of my favorite songs ever, Wonderwall....
It might have made it later when Oasis was a known band.. but the song that launched Oasis was Wonderwall.
Seems they had a little fight with BLUR to know which band would make it to America.. Oasis won, but I'm sure Song 2 is the most played now :D
When Definitely Maybe came out it was like a breath of fresh (ok, recycled Beatles) air. Morning Glory was good, then they started to believe the hype and went downhill and up nose very quickly. They still do some good songs, but nowhere near as often as before. Personally I think they burned out the repertiore too soon by always sticking four songs on singles - some of their B-sides are far better than many bands could ever hope to write.
'definitely maybe' reminds me of the great times i had when i lived in london in 1994-95, listening to them at the pub, and the silly blur/oasis thing (i was blur, my then boyfriend was oasis). but i think 'morning glory' is a better album, as i just like the songs on it better, especially 'champagne supernova'. such a lovely one, that! i agree with mr. eyes, though, they went downhill after that (and about the b-sides, as well. some of them are far superior to their album material!). what happened, boys?
definitely maybe for me...it's the only one I ever bothered to pick up...
helped form a bond with the 13 year olds I was teaching at the time...they figured out the old codger wasn't so out of touch after all once they found out I had this and the weezer disc that was out at the time...
