The first wildcard games were played today. The Jets who some believe may be the Patriots of 2003, destroyed the Colts 41-0 The Vick-led Falcons handed the Packers their first ever playoff loss at home by beating them 27-7. The Falcons win creates an interesting matchup next week when they face the Eagales. McNabb vs. Vick.

Sunday in the AFC it's the Steelers vs. Browns. NFC my beloved 49ers vs. the Giants.

To make a long story short. Who do you pick as NFC champ/AFC Champ. Super Bowl winner.

AFC: Raiders NFC: Eagles - Provided McNabb is 100% healthy. No team with a starting QB with the last name Detmer will win anything.

Super Bowl: Eagles

AFC: The Jets, I think their momentum is going to continue to grow, they with shock a lot a people.

NFC: As much as I would like to see a super bowl of the New York Teams, I don't think the Giants will make it. I'm going with The Eagles also.

Winner: The Jets (That's just my personal bias, I never root for the NFC.)

Well, starts pretty bad for WenOrder, isn't it?

Pretty wild Sunday games; my buddy who was euphoric over the Ohio State NCAA title came crashing back to earth with the Browns collapse against their arch-rivals, and the 49ers/Giants game was something else (NOTE to M. Strahan: point out the scoreboard to the other team AFTER the game! :nonono: )

And Jim, with you being a Raiders fan, well all I can say is that I really hope you don't dress like the typical Raiderfan...

As for myself, go Eagles and Jets!!!, with Philly winning it all.

I have to say my hometown team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will win the Super Bowl. However, I'm scared that the Jets, Raiders, or Titans will play the Eagles or Falcons. They just all seem hotter right now than my beloved Bucs. I know the Eagles lost the final game, but wouldn't you expect them to lose ONE without McNabb!?

Jim, all Raiderfans pretty much look alike to me, so I just took a guess. (about the last thing I wanna do on this earth is to go to a home Raider game wearing some Chiefs or Chargers gear; I'd like to walk out of the game under my own power, thank you very much! ) ;)

THIS WEEKEND

Jets vs. Raiders- Jets Steelers vs. Titians -Titans

Vick vs. McNabb - VICK 49er vs Bucs - Bucs

it is typical that the new york press machine is operating at full power this week in the papers where the jets are concerned. myself and another hard core raiders fan feel the raiders have a unique motivation from January of last year with the botched call. That and the Jets haven't lost in a while, they have played lesser quality teams lately (Colts, Packers, pleaseeeezzzzz). It may be they best game of the playoffs, but I think the Jets are heading into a buzzsaw

Okay the only way the jets become the patriots of this season are if the Officials give the game to the Jets Like they Did for the Patsies Raiders fan here as well and i am surrounded by thease idiot Jet fans who still havent realized heartache after heartache that they have worse luck than al Bundy, BUT the raiders are going to crush them because they are a stronger team

  you must be having it tough down there Frank. One of my co-workers was razzing me a bit today as he is supporting the Jets even though he is a BENGALS FAN :barf: his twin is a big jets fan, with season tickets to boot. ya think Oakland would play the jets in Jersey for once huh, with yet another trip out west for them next season??

oh well, Jets lost. Now let see the Raiders go all the way.

maybe in a few years Jeff, you can almost be sure Parcells will get you back in the playoffs...how soon will depend on how far he can stretch the thin talent pool

Congrat to all you Raider and Bucs fans. Looks like this will actually be a great game to watch this year. :smokin:

Couldnt have asked for a better superbowl raiders have to win but i am a bit worried because chuckie is a great coach and knows them pretty well but i think we have too many guys that have been there and won not to crush them

kill the bucs, oh yeah they stole our logo as well! :headoff:

Stole your logo, eh? Tell me how the Buccaneers logo resembles the Raiders logo in any way. The Bucs are there to win the Super Bowl, and their victory in Philly was much more impressive than the Raiders winning at home against Tenessee. The Raiders have not seen a defense like the Bucs this year. Good luck on Sunday, you will definitely need it!

As 49er fan let me first say this:

BRING BACK MOOCH!!!!

Ok now that I got that one outta the way. Go Raiders only because of Jerry Rice. Also Tim Brown deserves a super bowl ring.

I was surprised that they actually let Mooch go! So who do you think will take his place?

Wen,

I don't think he got along with some of the 49er managment types. Bill Wlash? Perhaps a player or two *cough* Owens *cough* There was some talk of Dennis Green taking over but I assume that was a joke since the 49ers might want to win the super bowl again. The 9ers have six people on the list so far - Eagles offensive coordinator Brad Childress, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson and Patriots defensive chief Romeo Crennel, Dennis Green (sadly), Jets defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell and Jim Moron Jr. As long as it isn't Moron or Green then I guess it will be ok but will any of them really be a better coach then Mooch?

I think the 9ers made a mistake getting rid of him

We are celebrating tomorrow in Tampa. The Bucs wil be Super Bowl Champions. Count on it. Sorry, Raiders.

not an expert by any means, but surely the bucs defence will prevail?

Since I was rooting for the Eagles, looks like I'll pull for the Bucs to win; never have rooted for the Raiders ever. sorry bout that Jim.

Bucs win...guess that makes Lickmodem a happy man?!?!?!

Wow. I really expected it to be an evenly matched game. Congrats Lickmodem, enjoy the celebration!

Now until next year...

LIving in Colorado when I was a kid, I grew up a broncos fan. I still am, but after Elway retired, I retired my loyalty to denver as my #1 team. I've been living in Baltimore ever since the the Old Browns moved here and became the Ravens. and now the Ravens are my team. Our Super Bowl victory a few years ago was so sweet, the city went nuts!

Now the football withdraw begins....

elway could instigate a coup d'etat and declare himself king of colorado and i imagine most people would be perfectly happy to declare allegiance to him. this is how seriously loved he is in the centennial state. am i wrong?

and where in our lovely state did you live, wen?

I still get chills everytime I see Elway on tv. There are many great memories watching Elway at Mile HIgh Stadium when I was a kid. I love Colorado. I lived int he Suburban Westminister.

I was miserbly depressed when my family moved to the east coast. I moved to the DC suburbs the same month Denver played washington in the super bowl. I didn't make too many friends right away.

and to add insult to injury, people are talking about the broncos...well, at least the raiders pasted them twice this year

turns out you made the right choice greene  frankly, i'm dissappointed, but not surprised. i was trying to convice a fellow hard core raider fan that oakland had to watch out for the Bucs offense, and his reply was what offense??? I try to get my point across that their offense had improved in the playoffs and if the Bucs started matching us TD for TD that we could be in trouble, especially if our offense was stopped. I had Oakland penciled in for 3 big scoring plays, and a few field goals. They got 1 fg, and 2 big plays (Rice TD and the blocked punt TD), but even without the Bucs returning 3 interceptions for td's they still outscored the raiders on offense.

Hey, gotta give them credit...well coached (no surprise), a timely running game (typical raiders giving up 100+ yds to a back), and the ability to bounce back from an early turnover...what more can you ask for???

Congrads to all Tampa Bay fans... now all the raiders have to do is figure out how to shave $40 million in salary cap $$$

I'm sorry, I didn't catch the game. Did the Angels take the Giants in seven, like I had predicted? :D

Ravens had to shave 75 million this past season. Even though they ended up 7-9, they still showed a lot of signs of life!
