They're better than Chuck Norris....:D
Nah, I like 'em, I really really like 'em. Can't wait for a sophmore effort ![]()
There is a huge thread on the ON-TOPIC forum that I've started called "My verdict on Interpol" if you want to see more answers...
Quite good, a grower, but it's not all good songs though, but there are a few gems there, and the Joy Division vibe is a good thing...
Tahnks to Old Blue, I have this album, it's not as Joy Division as I was led to believe by certain things in the music press, but it's a good album, not great, but ok. It got heavy rotation for a wekk or two, now it's the odd here or there. 7/10
It's more Strokes-y and less JD-y than I first thought it would be, but after a few listens I really started to like it. The song that's always stuck in my head is "NYC".
Thanks everyone!
I have become out of the loop when it comes to music lately and someone played them for me. The first thing I said was "they kind of remind me of Joy Division", but I agree, I hear The Strokes sound there too... which, I have to admit, I like too...
Not bad..actually, they are quite good! :)

I saw them at the henry fonda theater in hollywood and was surprised. did anyone see them live recently? I think they debuted a new song (ive gone through most of their bsides and couldnt find the song in question) that was extremely dancy. I wouldn't say it was in the 'movement' kind of vein because its not quite so synth oriented, but I was pretty surprised. its like c'mon guys, its not like youre getting compared to joy division enough already. can anyone back me up on this?

I did hear they were playing this week at the Henry Fonda theater, but I didn't get a chance to go. Did you check their website for a setlist to find that song?
They are going to be at Coachella as well, too bad I will be in Chicago! :(
Let me know if you find out what the song was.
April
i tried to give them a chance but sorry i think they are crap dressed in nice duds throwing around all the right influences to attract some people i really dont hear anything special in their songs, but this is my opinion
the mysterious new dance-y song is entitled 'length of love,' one of about 4 new songs they have. their next full length should be very interesting indeed..
Thanks, Bill!
My song on the album right now is Hands Away. I have been repeating that one a lot! :)
Here's a good article about Interpol
Just for the JD reference. ![]()

I'm not sure that I agree with his praise of the lyrics; they seem to be their weakest feature to me.
