Yes, you heard it.. we're NOT supporting the Americans unless they have the UN support.

Finally standing up for ourselves.

(Anyways we don't have the military to support any war, we're a joke at this, and it's better this way)

Never actually tought Canada would do the opposite the US does some day.. !

No such luck down here in Aus - George Bush said "Jump" and Johnnie Howard asked "How high?", despite massive resistance from the average person in the street. I hope to God we don't see a repeat of the Bali bomb in downtown Sydney or Melbourne because of this.

Looks like this war issue is going to bring the Dutch government down. The coalition parties are divided on whether to support Bush; what they have agreed on so far is that no Dutch military troops will be deployed if it comes to war.

I only wish we had a leader with a backbone, instead of one with his head up Bush's ass......

Yes...the Dutch government has a very strange point of view. We (the government, that is) support the war politically, but not military...

Well, in addition to French, German and Russian products, i guess we'll have to boycott Canadian products as well. This will lead to the end of imported Canadian beer, hockey renamed "liberty soccor" or "skating and assault", call Canadian bacon "enduring freedom pork", kick out Dan Akroyd, and stop reruns of "Kids In the Hall" and any SNLs featuring Canadian cast members, hosts, or musical guests.

Oh, and Peter Jennings will have to go, the Toronto Blue Jays and Montreal Expos won't be able to get travel visas to the US, and Canada will be stricken from the map.

:D

I don't know if Turkey should be on that list of nations, they have refused use of their airspace and bases, although supposedly that might change.

oh dear!!! :eek3:

does this mean no more repeats of Talk Radio?!?!?

and does this mean all Canadians in the NHL will be forced to return home, eh?

and who would win the Stanley Cup then??? oh wait, we wouldn't be playing for Lord Stanley's Chalice, it's Canadian as well...

I reckon the Stars would be the initial favorite...our number one goalie (when healthy) is from the States...and our best player (Mike Modano, for the uninitiated) is from Michigan...ahh...leave the Canucks alone, they are, generally, good kids!!!

Good for you Canada. Does suprise me that you aren't getting involved in the "LET'S TURN THOSE RAGHEADS INTO A GLASS PARKING LOT" bigot parade that seems to be getting bigger in the free world. :(

No SCTV either....those degenerates John Candy, Eugene Levy, and Rick Moranis will have to peddle their wares elsewhere!

And on the subject of the "turn oil fields into our parking lot" bigotry, we have Toby Keith to thank for that particularly stirring piece of "patriotic" trash. I think his "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" is just about the worst damn thing I've ever heard, and it makes me ashamed to be an American ("we'll put a boot in your ass/it's the American way"? Thanks for confirming the stereotype that most people overseas have of us, Toby! )

SHATNER! Someone detain him before he does another guest appearance on "Live with Regis and Kelly"! We can't allow that enemy agent any free air time! Burn your Captain Kirk figurines, I beg of you, it's the American way!

You forgot Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader) is Canadian And so is the cute daughter in 24 and the cute girl in Smallville.

Jean Chretien is a dope!!! Forget Quebec separating, the west should, we have no say in anything. Because the west does support the war. At least BC and Alberta. (We know where are freedom comes from!!!)

But here is something funny. Everybody is saying this is the first time America has started a war. Well they are wrong. In 1908 America started a war with Canada! And we won!!!

1908? Make it 1813!

But you must be referring to the Chateauguay battle.

Yes indeed, the USA tried to capture Montreal, and we resisted, so they lost!

I never realized Canada was a nation on its own in 1813!!!

Are our history books wrong down here???

I'm quite sure that you are referring to that conflict with England that started in 1812, which neither country really lost...the treaty signed at Ghent pretty much left the status quo...

and the United States greatest victory in that war, the Battle of New Orleans, actually took place AFTER the treaty was signed...

but seeing as there was no internet back then, it took a while for the message to get through...

and now what is this I just heard on MSNBC??? the Canadian Prime Minister says that the time for debate is over???

oh no...the Canadians are invading...I'm starting to see the light now!!!! You have been slowly exporting your culture to us to set up the invasion!!

aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no!!!!!!!!!

think I'll go lie down now!!!!

Memo from the State Department, 3/21/03

OPERATION CANADIAN BACON

In keeping with the United States' commitment to liberating the oppressed peoples of the world from brutal dictators, we at the State Department have outlined a plan for our abused neigbor to the north, Canada.

Under the administration of Chretien, a horrible dicatator with a penchent for terror, various crimes have occured in the sovereign nation of Canada. Here is a list of some of the most detestable grievances:

  1. Suppresses dissent by forcing opponents to a place of optimum danger in hockey games (seated in the section most likely to suffer from a flying-puck disaster)

  2. Enforces Canada's secret police (The Royal Mounted Canadian Police, or RamCap for short) to ride free range into Montana's prairies, disrupting important horse trades and state fairs.

  3. Refuses to export Canadian beer.

  4. Has sent a telegram to France pledging loyality whenever French forces retaliate after another Lance Armstrong win at the Tour-De-France.

  5. Employs international sporting venues (Expos and Blue Jays stadiums) to force Celine Dion-rendered versions of "O Canada".

  6. Has on multiple occasions taken "love slaves" (housewives from the Michigan peninsula population) in daring midnight raids.

  7. Has engineered an all-star Canadian "rock star" tour (featuring Bryan Adams, Loverboy, and the cowboy from a disco act reportedly called "The Village People", who is not even Canadian) to distract Americans from a massive bombing campaign targeted at Duluth, Minnesota.

  8. has been linked to propagating the careers of Alanis Morrisette and Shania Twain (punishable as a war crime under UN Resolution 1441)

  9. Has plotter to overthrow the government......of Vermont and install his own satalite government.

  10. Has done very nasty things, like bathing only once a month (not confirmed)

  11. Apparently speaks French or has a French accent.

  12. May have been responsible for 9/11, along with Elvis, Andy Kaufman, and Jimmy Hoffa (no proof as of yet).

  13. Gradual campaign of pro-Canadian propaganda ("Kids In the Hall" reruns are primarily targeted at impressionable youth who may develop a appreciation for men in drag and other major facets of Canadian culture).

  14. My be hiding Hitler (can't be proven)

  15. Harboring weapons of mass destruction (Celine Dion CDs, Eugene Levy, etc)

  16. May be behind sinking of the Titanic (cannot be proven)

  17. Has called for a boycott of all American products imported into Canada (thus sending Tonka Toys into an economic tailspin)

  18. May have been behind Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping.

  19. Possibly French.

  20. May have been behind Jesus' death.

  21. Probably has nuclear power

These and other rather obscene behaviours and actions can be attributed either directly to the Candian governement under Chretien, or if not can be manipulated so as to point to it. Clearly the Canadian call for freedom from this brutal dictatorship calls for our immediate involvement. The fact that most of the population lives within marching distance of our country must be taken into consideration. Orders are underway to mass all available forces for a swift and orderly strike into the heart of prarie country, or perhaps Toronto (It is felt that taking this city would effectively throw the Canadian chain of command into disarray). Broadcast have been transmitted to Canadian radio (WBBK, "Toronto's home for Classic Jazz!") describing the nasty things American forces will do to any Canadian army personnel who oppose the invasion, and every effort is being made to arrange a surrender of the government's exclusive bodyguard (The Montreal Expos). It is hoped that within a few weeks, Canada will be liberated, and the rich deposits of whale oil can be used to rebuild the economy of the nation. God speed, and may our fighting boys have the support of all Americans (those found not to support troops at all or just a little bit will be hauled off to camps in Alaska).

Sincerely,

The Committee for "Operation Canadian Bacon".

Umm, reasons 10, 16, 19 & 20 are tremendous. I'm starting to support this war against Canada.

Problem is.. Jean Chrétien is already set to leave the head of the country at the end of the year

Finally I might add, although it's the first time I actually applaude to something he does.. I never assumed a Canadian PM would go against the US will... that's probably a first since a long long time!!

Okokok.. Canada was officially a country in 1867.. But it was called Canada before that you know ;-) Ontario was Upper Canada and Quebec Lower-Canada...

Have you actually seen the movie "Canadian Bacon" ? That was funny... A US president claims he's invading Canada in order to win his election.. he doesn't, but the people think he is..

John Candy (which is Canadian) plays the role of an american trying to invade Canada, wanting to go to the nation's capital (Toronto of course.. nobody knows what's the capital of Canada in the US ;) )

Funny.

BTW, only 1/4 of the population of Canada is fluent in french... 90% of these are in Quebec.

And again, what the heck is "Kids In the Hall" ?

Operation Canadianize America

We Canada (The 2nd largest country in the world) have declared war on the United States of America.

Demands: For every American to speak the words (eh, out & about & roof) And to stop all producing of American beer.

Today we declare a major victory in our battle. We have taken over the city of Las Vegas. With thanks to Celine Dion opening her 3 year Vegas show that the Americans have paid millions to produce. They are paying her 100 million for her 3 year show.

Also NHL Hockey is a success, as we are soon going to be moving Calgary and Edmonton to the States, to establish 2 more home bases.

The battle of Hollywood is always a winning battle, as many top Canadian Actors take over top American shows and Movies.

Bryan Adams and Neil Diamond promise to make a big comeback in 2004. And Nickleback promise to be bigger then Arrowsmith.

Shania Twain started operation eyes & ears, as she has sold millions of her new cd "Up" And soon promise to go on a major US tour, so every American can sing the words "Up, up, up, you got to go up" And look at her hot body.

We have two major Commander in chiefs running the operation. William Shatner (Captain of the USS Enterprise) and Hayden Christensen (Darth Vader) who promise victory is at hand.

To help pay for their service we have put Quebec for Sale on Ebay. But the people of Quebec will not be there as they are all moving to the west. (As of yet there are no bids???)

On a sad note, Operation "Kids in the hall" has failed, but in its place we will provide our new series "Degrassi: The next Generation" Which we have high hopes for since Degrassi junior high was a major success in the 80's.

If all else fails, we will move the Expos to a new home base in America, and the Blue Jays will steal another World Series. And we promise the next Canadian football Grey cup will have better ratings then the Super bowl.
