An April fool? I have heard the link but wouldn't think it very likely. As well as Owen, Heskey, Baros, Diouf and Mellor all vying for spots up front; two highly rated French lads are due to arrive in the summer, Florent Sinama Pongolle and Anthony le Tallec. Therefore I'd imagine it's the least likely position we'll be making a signing in. Houllier has just gone on record as saying he's looking to bring in 1-2 new faces not the 3-4, some expected. I'd assume he's prioritesed right back as Babbel is unlikely to fully recover and Left Midfield were Murphy has shone recently but if the likes of Kewell became available, I think we'd snap him up.
is this an appropriate time for that joke about the board saying duff was the priority signing last year?
