Smiths vs. Stone Roses

I'll go with the roses..but you konw, there is a light that never goes out.

Neither.

They are both absolute, complete and utter fucking overrated crap.

And that's final.

I like them both, but the Smiths have written more good songs then the Stone Roses.

i love the first Stone Roses LP, but The Smiths are far, far better.

no they aint, often overrated maybe but certainly not crap.

Both are outstanding bands who created 'original' music. Unfair to compare with The Smithereens as they produced about 10,000 more songs. Whereas The Road Sweepers peaked after they had manufactured the Simon and Garfunkle tribute album.

I would prefer to me Adored must be in everyone's top 7 all-time greats.

I Wanna Be Adored is absolutely brilliant. definitely one of my all-time favorite album openers.

The Smiths - no question, although the Roses have released the best debut album ever - I'm not sure anyone will ever steal that crown
