A fine, cuban cigar is something I'm often pondering over; whether or not to smoke one. Sometimes its necessary when the week has ground the soul to a halt, at other times, for the sheer hell of it.
Either way I never seemed to get 'round to buying one. Which makes me feel a little saddened.
Does anybody smoke them? - (ciggies don't count so don't be mentioning any of them).
(don't forget 'the mother ship' is meant to look reminiscent of a 'cigar shaped object'.)
Remember, it is the romantic notion, rather than the actual act which attracts me. As stated, I have yet to eat one!
Smoking though, is a bit naughty, and I have often been seen huffing loudly to passers by who tend to spoil my dinner by breathing fumes on my vegetable banger.
Usually on a special occasion I have the odd cigar
When I went to Dublin, I sat in a pub and had a guiness and a great big Boss Hog cigar. Then when I got engaged, the missus had been on holiday to Cuba and come back with these mad fuckers, even bigger than the Boss Hog one I had in Dublin, 24 in a carved wooden box, they took about 3 hours to smoke, and 30 minutes to get the fuckers lit, cannae remember the name of em, but they were the dogs bollocks. The last time I had a ceegar was after knocking the scouse lads out of the UEFA Cup:D Years ago several of me mates used to smoke the thin cafe creme things, they are mince, yer better off with a B&H, Panama are the one's sold in our local, so if there's a special occasion they are the only choice.
I'm not sure how much of that would translate to non-slang speaking Scotsmen and women of the world but that is precisely the sentiment I was wondering.
A full-on answer that ShfutzField, a few trial and error situations, some laughs, a bit of romance, some rivalry, and then the happy ending.
Its almost as if you've lived my 'ceegar' life in a nutbox. I'm not certain about your reference to B&H, these are dirty in comparison to a cultural cigar ... although they are the better of the normal fags (cigarettes).
Menthol smokes are acceptable if a choice segment of shit isn't ready for a decent roly, but I have heard that menthol sticks attack the brain tissue and leave you wanting when searching for larger words.
Them Cuban mammoths sound just the ticket. The nearest I've come to that was in South America, where again I ducked the opportunity to blow my own trumpet on a choice pipe the size of a fence post.

I'll definitely be getting a large one for the end of the game the morra night, dunno whether to go for a missile crisis or black forests of a warm and desolate land.
Me Gramps used to smoke King Eddies, and now and then I'd pilfer a couple, aroma of a chicken in the spring

may I recommend Sir a Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure no.2 (straight cut) or a Montecristo No 2 (Torpedo) (V cut) for your smoking pleasure...
Always a good addition to any decent wedding - a few cigars last thing at night. Used to smoke in me yoof, but haven't touched a ciggie since 95. However, still enjoy the odd cigar, although they can get rather boring after a few tokes. It's all about image though with cigars, eh? The reclining sofa, the port, cigar held aloft, idle banter amongst menfolk..

i usually smoke cigars AND pipe. my favourite cigars are cohiba, partagás and monte cristo. sizes: 4 or 5. and pipe tobacco i prefer the lighter and smoother ones, particullary with some special blend. hmmm, excellent with a good coffee or cognac.
but that´s from time to time. everyday i smoke regular blonde cigarettes. i choose the Gitanes blondes although i prefer the Gauloises blondes. but i can´t find them anymore so... if anyone has a pack of those send it over!

they dont really do blonde tabacco over here in the uk, only ever seen that in spain.

I'm pleased to learn Alfunghi digests fine cigars, emernating from Argentina and sporting the look of a revolutionist about to destroy mortals on his way to the local shop.
Some keen suggestions for specific brands have come out of all of this, and I'm hoping to pick some up very soon. I'm also hoping that hey don't make me turn green and be sick on my knees.
