my friend recently lent me a cd of DM covers. i love the song 'stripped' but rammstein make it unlistenable. blech.
rammstein. does anyone still care about their pseudo-threatening music? ugh.....if only another band could have covered this song. the only fun part is the pronunciation of "tele-vision."

I enjoy that cover. You're talking about the For The Masses tribute album? Some good tracks on there.
You might wanna listen to Kent's cover of Stripped, and State Machines. Very, very good.
i like rammstein :D though i haven't heard that particular song. to be fair though i can't help thinking that if they're songs were in english rather than german they'd just sound really silly.
I don't like Rammnstein. Many lights, many fireworks, many coreographers, but always the same song.
I love Stripped, but the Ramnnstein cover is awful.
Rammestein are great! Du Hast is complete crap, but you should own thier live album. It's psudeo-Worship-The-Devil heavy metal combined with some great pop ideas, keyboards, and undeniable germanness.

good point! but with the thought of "many lights, many fireworks," you forgot the ton of steroids! :)
The first time I heard Rammstien's cover of "Stripped" was at this dank strip club (ironic don't you think) Bad cover, even worse strippers.
I don't own that album, but I heard Smashing Pumpkins' cover of "Never Let me Down Again" is on there. The original is good, and the Pumpkins' cover does justice to the song. SP's cover of "Isolation" by JD is also decent, but is hard to find, unless you look on Kazaa or any of those P2P programs. Unfortunately, SP's cover of the Cure's "A Night Like This" blows. I can understand not finding a saxophone soloist for the end of the album, since the Cure doesn't even use one live. But, no keyboards? How can you cover the Cure without keyboards? Well, you play the relatively simple keyboard part on the guitar, but I doubt James Iha has enough skill to do that.

Haven't heard it but it sounds awful! The idea of anyone covering DM makes me cringe, though; I don't think their stuff lends itself too well to being covered. It should be left alone.

I don't know now. there are some great DM tracks that have been matched and in some cases improved by being covered. (for example, I much prefer Deftone's cover of "To Have and to Hold" than the original, and I love the original!)
