What concerts are y'alls planning on going to or actually have bought tickets for. For me I will be in attendence at Elvis Costello and REM concerts respectively. I have already had the opportunity to see Mr. Costello once already and was nothing short of fookin brilliant. He graced us with 3 encores.

Also Ben Harper w/ Jack Johnson is in the plans but we will come down to the bling bling issue.

Well, next week I'm going to "work" as a photographer at Skol Beats, a huge electronic music festival. Included in the line-up are the Stereo MC's, 808 State, Junkie XL, Layo & Bushwacka!, Jeff Mills and Green Velvet amongst others.

Possibly the Dirty Three, Buzzcocks, Jah Wobble, The Roots, and the Supersuckers. Cat Power is next Wednesday, but I'll be busy somewhere else.

PSB in Detroit was the last show I saw (last year, incredible) and I really don't have plans for anything this year. We talked about seeing Cher at the Nutter, which would be fun. I'd go see Paul Weller if he toured this summer instead of touring like he did last winter - like who's gonna drive to Chicago in the middle of winter???? I'd try to see PSB if they toured this year. LOVE to see NewOrder...but I know they won't come near Dayton and I hate festivals because I can't be in the sun for too long...

Went to see Public Enemy on Monday at The Glasgow Academy. The best show I've been to ever. May never go to another gig again.

I went to the same show.. I think they started with Home and Dry and finished with You Choose, which happen to be the same as the album. :)

I think that's how it went, too. Such an excellent show....

Don't have anything lined up at the minute (last gig I went to was in November) but I'm hoping that something good'll come along later in the year.

Holding out for a NewOrder gig, then committing ritualistic suicide as my life will finally be complete.

I managed to get tickets for REM's first gig of their upcoming tour at the Tivoli in Utrecht on 21st of June(small place ; holds 800 people). Which should be brilliant :) The weekend after that I'm at Rock Wechter in Belgium to see REM again and Radiohead, Underworld, Coldplay, Grandaddy etc...

Oh, I went to that as well, they were indeed very good. Some length of set.

Next up for me is Jimmy Cliff next month, and nothing else planned yet for after, having failed to gets tickets for the Stones. Fancy going to T In The Park for REM, but it probably won't happen.

Went to see Grace Jones at the Barrowlands on Sunday. She came on 3 hours late (half past midnight!!!) played 7 songs with just a drummer and a backing tape, had about 5 costume changes, got her tits out three times and fucked off for good after 40 minutes. Still worth every penny of my 25 quid!

She is an entertainer if nothing else. Saw her at Brixton about 10 years ago & she ahd some fella from the audience on stage dancing with her like a mad man.

Public Enemy - best ever?? that's a fairly hardcore assertion GF. Never rated 'em meself [runs for cover]. What was so good?

...oh, er, gigs..

Ladytron in Paris next week, Blur this Friday, Durutti Column the day after Benny's Wedding, Crispy Ambulance & Biting Tongues in a few weeks, Hot Hot Heat, British Sea Power and Sportique.

On abit of a gig-fest at the minute. Well, footy seasons ending so gotta think of something to fill the time.

Never been a huge fan of the PE Johnny, only went along as a last minute thing with my journo mate who had a couple of spare spaces on his guest list. However, the show was just immense, classic after classic with soooo much energy. Literally left you breathless. Ignoring the dodgy 20 minute heavy metal solo set from Professor Griff I still stand by it being probably the best non-NO gig I've seen.

There's something about hip hop shows that other gigs can't match. Far more interaction.

Went to see David Gray, who was okay and the I saw Coldplay at Earls Court, who were good but lacked something. Went to the Buzzcocks and came out deaf and still not understanding a word Pete Shelley sang.

Off to see Bruce Springsteen, yes, the boss, at end of May and then next gig is planned in October? to see Simple Minds at Cambridge Corn Exchange
