The last CD I purchased was the O Brother soundtrack

So far I haven't been tempted enough to pick up anything else lately. I like what I've heard of Norah Jones, but I don't know if that's because she's pretty good or because she looks like the girl in my Gov't class that I have a crush on . Either way, I just haven't decided to buy anything.

I DID pick up "The Wall" on DVD yesterday, though. I gotta say, if you want to maintain a perception of Roger Waters as a gloomy humorlous guy (the impression you might get from various stories in the music press over the years), don't listen to the DVD commentary with him and Gerald Scarfe, the guy behind all the fucked-up animation. It's very funny as commentaries go, and well worth listening to for one hilarious bit during the scene where "Pink" is battering the wall. At any rate, a great movie and a great purchase.

what b-side is on that interpol single you purchased? is it the specialist? the one about "i dont like my clothes anymore?" i downloaded a good amount of interpol singles.. almost all of them i think, and theyre a little long winded, but the specialist is definately top notch.

actually, i just managed to pick up 'heart and soul' a few days ago. never got around to forking out the money until now.

thats actually a tough question. have you heard manitoba's previous albums? its nothing at all like them... but, to answer the question i'd have to say a conditional "yes." reason being i only just "like" it now, but when the weather is a lot better, i can see myself listening to it a lot more..(it just finished snowing here)..it just *feels* like a summer album.

up in flames is a lush album and is occasionally a feel-good-dancey sort of thing. yeah, give it a whirl.

Alright, another owner of Arkology!

Haven't done any extensive shopping of late, but I did pick up the Senor Coconut album that has been mentioned here a couple of times before(latin covers of Kraftwerk), and while it'll never be an all-time fave, I'll certainly play it a lot.

That, and the Mekons' Original Sin US compilation on Twin/Tone (the great Fear And Whisky album, plus some single tracks that weren't issued over here). Beaten And Broken is my new theme song, plus a swell cover of Gram P's $1,000 Wedding.

Weird.... just now that i'm done with NewOrder I don't know what to get into... so I've been rounding out my CD collection with some classics and old faves.

i'd say go for some other classy 80s synthpop. i do that when i feel like i have too much NO.

Heart & Soul last week United We Sing 5 - Pete's Plughole Pleasers by the legandary Pete Boyle, the week before. Before that, Unrest by Erlend Oye & LOTR: The Two Towers soundtrack.

I haven't bought CDs in a long time, because I got to save my money. So, I've been going through my CDs and listening to stuff I haven't listened much.

Pet Shop Boys -- Bilingual, and Joy Division -- Heart And Soul (boxed set) on 20/04/03.

I also bought my mum Red Hot CP -- BloodSugarSexMagic on the same day.

More than likely the next cd I buy will be Hope.

Well, I'm waiting for the White Stripes and Placebo albums to come from CD-WOW (amazing Easter sale - £8 each! - does anybody still buy full-price CDs from Virgin/HMV?).

My last physical shop buy was yesterday. I got the new limited double compilation "Capsule" by Kitchens of Distinction. One of the most underrated bands of late 80s/early 90s. To all those people who love Interpol at the moment, especially the track "NYC", it's a sound ripped off hook line and sinker from the mighty Kitchens.

Never Mind the Bollocks - Sex Pistols Boomslang - Johnny Marr and the Healers Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits 2 cd set (I was kinda late in purchasing and the limited edition 2 cd set was no longer being sold. There's still edited versions lying around everywhere, but who wants that? I finally tracked down an unedited version.) And last but not least: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets soundtrack

i still need to get that album. it's beautiful; definitely choice stuff. i LOVE bands influenced by the Shoegaze scene (plus the bands that were involved in the scene itself).

The 2-edition CD version with the CD videos of ACR playing around New York in 1980, (which is why I bought the CD over the vinyl version, perish the thought)? I should think you would NOT be disappointed in it in the least, and though I have most of their records, I still play this quite a bit, very glad I bought it Love the lengthy interviews in the booklet with the band members as well.

It's funny you should ask, but I went browsing about them last week when I read the compilation was coming out. It seems the lead singer - Patrick Fitzgerald - can't use his own name for copyright reasons so is now going by the name Stephen Hero and has had a couple of mini albums released plus a full album soon. Don't know about the other two band members. Haven't heard any of the music yet but there's loads of mp3s to download on the StephenHero website.

The Bullocks?

The Clash were awesome, weren't they? OK the politics was a trifle naive, but the toons were mostly brilliant and Strummer was clearly a straight-ahead decent guy. (And at least the politics meant they had something real to actually write about.)
(Just been watching the Westway to the World DVD, cheapest DVD in the shop, I guess in the tradition of Sandanista!)

Have never even thought to check to see if Dig The Live Breed was ever released on CD here in the states; are there extra tracks on the UK issue? (I still play my vinyl copy).

the last album I bought was actually a cassette of The Cure--Concert/Curiosity. The last Cd was probably something by Dead Can Dance.

Just had a £30 splurge, courtesy of Jersey-based retailers Splash DVD (who have been known to delay the odd order or two) - all despatched by this morning. They had a very limited sale in the early hours of Thursday morning, which lasted about 2 hours :

The Cure - Wish : this was to replace the copy I sold when I hit hard times. Glad to have it back in my collection to be honest, particularly as I paid less than what I sold it for !

Jack Dangers - Variaciones Espectrales - the king of cut-up vocal samples and hip-hop beats, long before Orbital and Chemical Brothers came along. Jack is the main force behind Meat Beat Manifesto, but he recorded two "solo" albums (odd, given that MBM is mainly him anyway) which saw a more soulful approach to the genre. Sheer class.

Mogwai - Kicking a Dead Pig - always had a soft spot for this lot. This double CD is basically a compilation of versions of their earlier tracks reworked by a whole host of Mogwai's peers. Looking forward to this one, I have to say.

Future Sound of London - Accelerator - One of the guys in FSOL wrote the seminal classic acid stomper Humanoid. This is the first album from FSOL and features several reworked versions of their timeless classic Papua New Guinea

The Stranglers - Death and Night and Blood Live - I know a lot of folk thought that the Stranglers were a bunch of poncey Southern shandy drinking middle-clas art students from Guildford, but I always rated these guys. Curse anyone who tells you Paul Roberts is better than Hugh Cornwell. This is a great compilation of the good old days, before they went weird and harpsichorded out on us :)

Atari Teenage Riot - Redefine the Enemy - If you haven't got ant stuff from the Digital Hardcore label in your collection, get some. Totally totally mad digital punk anarcho-racket. I have their seminal album 60 Second Wipe Out featuring the superb segue of Revolution Action an By Any Means Necessary. This album is a collection of B-side and rarities so probably only for hardcore fans - but heck at £3.48, what can you do except buy it ?

The Orb - Live 93 - hippyesque noodling from the Orb boys : a double CD filled with ambient nonsense : a total must-have that has finally made it's way into my collection.

The Dubliners - Best of - Leave it....

The Black Dog - Bytes - Another timeless classic. Black Dog (who later transmogrified into the superb Plaid) were at the forefront of the Artificial Intelligence series of albums released by Sheffield bleep-label Warp.

Well happ with my purchases - can't wait for the poor postie to bring my goodies home :)

Wedding Present's Singles 96-98 (not too sure with the dates but basically singles from their last period). Some cracking songs some not too memorable. Overall quite a good record.

just got blur's 'think tank' and coldplay's 'a rush of blood to the head' a few days ago. positive feedback on both of them. i just wish graham was still with blur--fantastic guitar player...
