George, what say you on rumours of a new gigantic budget monster movie entitled; Van Hurricane?

The Wolfmale, Dracula the flying GentleMale and even Frankincense are all pencilled in to give Hiskins a thorough run for his olden money belt.

I'm dubious about the project, and after reading that monster enthusiasts are already up in arms about the faux pas that mixing all of the above in real life would be false and rubbish - I' m very keen to see it hit the screens in May 2004. (book your tickets at least 3 days prior to a Friday or Saturday night).

Hugh Jackmale is going to play Peter's Cushions with The WolfMale by Danny Sticks Jr. and The Franking Machine is likely to be created entirely from broken biscuits found on Lucas's shoe horn.

It sounds almost as good as The Lizards take Biscuit Island.

We can only hope.

Went to see that Phone Box film on the weekend it wasn't the worst film I've paid good money to see, probably the shortest though. It's like paying l.p. prices for a 12".

Another randomn thought on the subjct of films. Jurrasic Park - worst film ever? Who's with me?

Not by a long shot.

Police Academy 6: Assignment Miami was a real fizzer. I've seen better film on the back of teeth. It really let down what was a cracking series up to that point.

I confess I lost the trail of the Police Sargents around the time they were evidently off to Russia to kick some 'but-ski'. Are they in double figures yet?

George will appear soon, not unlike a bad Portugese egg.

Gigantic Park was an average film with average dinosaurs and an average plot. It could have been so much better. It signalled the start of good computer graphics but bad movie; a tradition excellently withheld today.

Phone Boot looked a bit Colin Ferret heavy, and seemed far too close to the series 25 currently showing on the terrestrial stations. Kevin O'Sunderland blowing kisses down the phone in his gravely voice - not my cup of Bovril me thinks.

Quite vacant this weekend on the movie viewing, managed to snaffle a watch of the Red Dragon film with Anthony Hopkirk and Brian Fines. Another fair outing for the wine lover' tonight I may be eating your wives' etc. - not sure if they shouldn't re-think the next film and have him flying to the moon on the back of a walrus, its possibly the only thing he hasn't yet achieved next to getting shot about 50 times and walking like a healthy rabbit.

Since we're back on films, H, I watched/listened to both director and cast commentary for Donnie Drano. The cast commentary made me appreciate the movie a lot more than the director commentary did.

I recommended, for the second time in the space of only a few hours, Daniel Dumpy to a close pal of mine. I was chastised about it only last night. I no longer give out firm recommendations.

Its good to hear your making some headway though P, my mate intends to locate someone who can tell him what the movie was about. Funnily enough, he played a few extras to see if he could extract some knowledge and let me know his feelings on Daniel Barrymore's collection of fishes who seemed anxious to shout over the best bits during commentary.

I'm still keen on that metal rabbit's mask. I'm probably biased.

Co-incidentally, The Texan Chain Store Mystery was broadcast for the first time on terrestrial television the other night.

The writer/director's view of the film just seemed very programmed and not that interesting. The universe has gotten off track and Donnie has been chosen to set things right. What?

However, I got the Memento DVD and once again enjoyed that a lot.

Possibly because you have some of the same traits as the boy who applies signs on his buttocks to recall his favourite cheeses.

Do not trust Sammy Jenkis. Hibsty said he did it. And although I can't recall much of the film, I tend to believe him.

Momentary Bibendum is an excellent film. Agreed.

But we have to move on. And on my upper thigh, I have written, 'Momento, you have seen this film. It was smashing. But you must not see it again, instead, seek out new films'. Now reading this I'm not sure if I wrote it or I was tricked? - should I watch it again? - probably.

Either way I never will trust big Sammy J again.

Well, I sought out Bang Bang You're Dead, didn't I? I sought out Donnie Dorko, on your recommendation, H, didn't I? Am I not open?

Absolutely.

I failed to entwine fragments of Momento with some spiel and instead have upset the apple cart.

I would be interested to hear discussion regarding the oft remarked 'chronological' order facility encased in the Moments of Glory DVD.

And did Sammy the boy Janitor do it? -

My reference to moving on was in desperation to locate a film 'as good' as M'to. My provoking attitude has upset the apple cart.

I do intend to pick up the Interpole bands album though, but I cannot admit to being open minded. That would be too close minded.

Well, H, it must be like the hidden tracks on Retro. I couldn't find it. The format of the special features disc was a bit irritating. Fortunately there were detailed instructions on how to find the movie itself on disc one.

It is becoming a little tricky just pressing play, your never sure what might happen. And it usually does.

I was keen to see that there were 'over 8 hours of extras' on the 24PP DVD though, I must say. Unfortunately I think I only found about 2 hours, plus the film (which again was helpfully written on to the first diskette).

Maybe it should have read '24Party People, with almost 2 hours 20 mins. of bonus material and not quite 8 hours which we were going to write'.

Perhaps that is too cynical.

Unless 6 hours are hidden somewhere on disk 3 of a two disk set?

You'll have to see if you can find that hidden chrono. section Pasty, otherwise we'll never know who got the 'gal.

Probably the motel clerk, H.

The North American 24 party pickles does not make any claim to extensive special features.

I don't know that I have the patience to try all five choices on every question I come across on disc two, on the off chance that a chronological version might appear. Does that mean all the black and white scenes come first?

The ones I tried to find by playing disc 5 upside down, H.

Another info-nugget from the Donnie Dartboard director's comments:

Jake G: But you considered Vince Vaughn and Mark Wahlberg for Donnie, didn't you?

Richard K: Well, yes, but VV was concerned about playing 16 and MW wanted to play him with a lisp.

MMMMMmmmmmmmm.

The intrigue surrounding DD is growing.

Barry Walnuts seems so overly restrained when acting (in fact, when interviewed) is it possible he is actually an android?

A friend of mine insists 3 Kings is a good film. Having watched it I thought it was a bit crap. It did not realise whether it intended to excrete fluids of solids. Although the film quality was very novel.

Wasn't Barry Whale Burger lead singer in New Cans on the Shelf? - can't think of a decent song they released but I still really enjoy that 'You are, my du du, the one, desire-urrr' etc. - I think that was another band but they all merge into one.

On a different tack I concede I dig Jelly Timbre Lane. He is the new Michael Jasons.

Marky Mark was most certainly not a new goat on the blank. His brother was. MM had a solo career, consisting of one song. He was actually pretty good in a movie called Fear. I don't consider that Planet of the Apes was his fault.

I am at a complete loss as to who you mean -- oh, now I see. Are you serious, H? Justin?

I'm already out about it here in the UK P. JT is the new MJ. It's official.

He might be a spunky upstart from the wrong side of the tracks but he can sure do jolt / robot moves like no man since some of MJ's original background extras.

I've also just heard the Britannia Peaches may have wandered behind JJ's backside! - and to think, everybody was thinking it was AJ!

Christina Agua Water Consumer, who also started life wearing a Mickey Mouse suit seems to have a few ideas above her petrol station though. I'm not sure if that video with her dancing in muck wasn't a bit too much. Who picked up that cleaning tab hey? - ridiculous.

The real rub is this, why did Bitty Peaches release such an oddball song about a girl winning a beauty contest? - the lyrics are surreal!

Hit My Baboon Once Again was a smashing number. And the director was English, which is odd because it looks so American. Mind, you never can tell these days. Who'd have thought that Nicole Cake Stand was one of the stars of BMX Bandidos!? - do you think she'd film BMX Bandits 2, Chicks on the Make?

So yes, JJ the Timbershoe is on my favourite list at the moment. 'A producer' was on the TV the other day saying that his new album is a classic.

Surely you can't argue with that?

:hat:

All right, H, I think I finally understand. Saying that Justin Haircut is the best thing since MJ is not meant as praise.

Broken Spear's debut was indeed impressive. But what vile rumors are you spreading about three-ways, or worse?

And don't forget about Marky's years as an underwear model. It probably scarred him for life.

to get the easter egg chronolgical order version you have to keep the menu up till it plays through once, then press play & you should get it then (i think - will check later)

its well worth doing as you get a whole different spin on it (though the film is better in the theatricall released order)

shave.

well if you count the three different commentaries as extras, together with the "from the factory floor" bit thats a few hours, the peter saville gallery is about 30 mins, the other interviews, the missing scenes it all adds up

Thanks, Dave. I have a region 1 disc; two disc set "limited edition." I assumed the chron version must be on disc 2 because there's not a whole lot else on it.

the region 2 disc is a one disc set with a sticker on it highlighting the hidden feature

there is no new footage in it - it just plays the film in a different order - so would imagine it wouldnt need much space.

done some searching for you - its a bit more tricky on the US one - here are the instructions I found

--Insert Disc two from the Limited Edition set, then select the clock.

--Select answer "c" 5 times (The actual answers have nothing to do with the navigation)

--When you reach the question where you put the pictures in order of the woman fixing her tire, put them in REVERSE order (3, 4, 1, 2), rather than the correct order, and you will be taken to the Chronological version of the film, complete with backwards credits and the opening scene in forward motion.

***Note: This feature worked on my laptop, my Sony DVD, and my Pioneer DVD, however it did NOT work on my Toshiba for some reason...It just played the credits backwards, then the movie in the original order....so I'd be interested to hear from others with Toshiba's to see if this feature worked on their players...***

region 2 instructions

Access the special features section of the DVD. Wait for the 'Memento Mori' picture to move and the pic of Leonard with a pic in his mouth to take up most of the screen (best wait for the words 'Memento Mori' to be barely visible at the edge of the screen). Press enter/play. A screen will come up telling you you have found the hidden version of the film. Click on 'Play'.

Thanks very much, Dave. I will give that a try, although the part about the woman fixing her tire is not entirely clear to me.

Those instructions were exactly right. Thanks again, Dave. It was definitely worth watching that way, although you're right that the original is better. This version makes clear why Leonard has two motel rooms. But the room numbering system is rather odd. 21 and 304 seem to be from different systems.

The 'system' can never be cheated.

So ... after all of the technological advances made in only one day ... can anybody truly confirm, with certainly, who actually killed Simon Jenkins?

:hat:

I'm willing to be satisfied with smaller pleasures, H. The ultimate mysteries of life are beyond me, I'm afraid. But how did Jimmy G recognize Leonard, when he seemed to spend all his time in his first motel room? Number 21?

sammy jenkiss wasnt the victim H he was the one with the memory problems whose case was quoted

(just kidding)

If I remember correctly, it was Guy Pearce' wife who was killed, and the trauma affected his memory thus he began to write notes so he could retain access to his short term memory thus not loosing the critical moments of the dastardly deed. The movie succeeds in providing devils advocate of the situation, to present the prospect he 'could' have written some events down incorrectly. Which events were rightly or wrongly chronicled is the gripping aspect.

So yes, I do recall Sammy Jenkis was a character in the film, and the question is; did he kill Guy Pearce's wife?

That was a little too sensibile an approach to present to you so I'll add a recommendation that Momento 2 should be called, 'Time Rat'.

:hat:

The motel clerk did it.

iirc he had already found the killer of his wife (pantoliano) & was just using it as an excuse to kill someone else & to blame them for it.

sammy jenkiss killed his own wife.

dont answer the telephone

Dualling swords, I will remember these potent facts upon next viewing of the film.

We have combined in strength to forge this telling synopsis; the motel clerk did it.

I have just witnessed 'Girl Into Turnips' starring Miss. Banana Riding and I'd like to offer the suggestion that it was quite riveting.

Despite my early retirement I simply urge the guests to view this. Perhaps the UK gentle folk also watched last night?

A movie starring two extremely irritating actresses "pretending" to be crazy? That sounds about as appealing as any Robin Williams movie, H.

But really, Teddy did it didn't he? Is that what you were saying, Dave?

Jimmy G is killed before Teddy, but JG's manner with Leonard when they first meet in the derelict building seems to be completely natural and unconcerned.

Certainly well worth watching again, in either order.

this post is actually about van helsig believe it or not..

my friend who lives in the apartment downstairs is working for the gentleman whose producing the film. theyre currently on location in the czech republic filming. my neighbor insists that the dailies look REALLY GOOD, but hes also one of those film nerds who thinks that xmen is one of the greatest films ever. anyways, at the very least, that means that its shot well, looks good, has a vaguely interesting story to it.

the producer in question is the guy whose responsible for the mummy movies, the live action jungle book, etc. the film is being distributed by universal and theyre banking on it HUGE - merchandise, product tie ins, theme park rides, the whole lot.

hope this is enlightening. this is what happens when you live in la, the biggest company town in the world..
