Right, excuses first. I work nights, but tonight (Tues) I'm off. When I've got a week night off, I can never sleep, or be bothered, so I usually get beer in. (To help me sleep, yeah right!) And while logged on here tonight, went to my cd single collection and pulled out a disc at random. So here we go..... everyone do the same and tell us the first cd you got. The more obscure & far removed from JD/NO etc. the better. And please be honest! We're all friends here, we won't judge/criticise!! :D If you think this sucks then please accept my apologies. Well, mine and a dozen bottles of Kronenbourg!!!

Right, me first: "Extremis" by Hal (feat. Gillian Anderson)

1 condition: you have to listen to the cd. (OK, we'll extend it to vinyl, cassette & MD aswell!) :music:

OMIGOSH!!! I did buy that single as well cause I was an X-Files fan, but I listened to it twice, I think, and now it is deeply buried in "probably to never be played again" box.

Seriously as well, since it was a really, really, really bad day at work, I'm having quite a few as well, and I have a stack of unplayed CD's by the stereo. About 15 minutes ago, I pulled out the Libertines CD, which finally came out in the States, and which I bought about 3 weeks ago, but haven't played til now. Pretty decent stuff, are they regarded as the English Strokes? Right now, Boys In The Band is playing, and I turned the stereo up. Loud.

Cheers Green! Have a listen to that single again. Bought it for the same reason as you (how long ago???) and listening to it now, it's not bad. Or maybe that's the beer again. Only joking, it IS a good tune.

A couple of new rules:

You have to be drunk (optional) You can make it more than one cd/cassette/md/vinyl (also optional; depending on how embarassed you are by your music collection!)

My second choice: "Das Boot" - U96 (Single; also own album of the same name, along with a few others)

If i did it then theres 99.999% chance it would be a neworder cd or a neworder offshoot cd therefore its highly unlikely to be at all embarrassing on this forum!!

I may be brave and delve into my long since forgotten dusty tape collection though, a few shockers in there i dont doubt...

Maybe Hibster will stake claim to the existance of 'Late At Night' the x-rated version then if he's such a fine purveyor of material ;)!!
