Agree about the Nirvana disc, the first half is almost all top-notch, but once you get past Breed and Lithium it's all downhill. The only reason anyone remembers this album is because of the "big" songs, the rest of the album is crap.
True. Which, in that case, if you *have* to have a Nirvana album, get From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah. You get all the "big" tracks like "smells like teen spirit," "drain you," "lithium," and others, and they're all live, although for some of the songs, the sound quality isn't the greatest. Of course, if you have to have some album from the grunge scene of the early '90s, get either of Smashing Pumpkins' first two albums. Both blow that Nirvana sh*te away.
Actually, I HAD "From the Muddy Banks" but sold it particularly because of the sound quality. I guess grunge just wasn't for me
