Not sure, need a little time to wake up
Joy to the World by Three Dog Night...I still love that song...god Im old!!...but I bet it is worth some money now!
This list of singles bewilders me; well my first single wasn't so sparkling either... no comment
Cherub Rock - Smashing Pumpkins. I bought it after the album only for the bizarre b-sides "pissant" and "french movie theme".
This is the absolute truth...
The Perfect Kiss 12"
To this day I remember the 1st time I heard it on college radio and went straight to the record store to buy it!
I'm a Cult Hero - Cult Hero 1979 Never been one for buying singles but I've got some nice one-offs, just came across Time Zone's World Destruction : anyone remember that one?
Funnily enough, the first CD Single I ever bought was 'World (The Price Of Love)' CD2 in late 1995.
I`d been buying vinyl & cassette singles ages before then, though. I think my first was the 7" of 'French Kiss' by Lil Louis
First single was: 747-strangers in the night by Saxon class song and I still put it on the old gramaphone occasionally

I thought world destruction was by Africa Bombatta or are there two versions? Great song anyway used to have it on video from some programme or other and i played it to death on my telly.

Pretty sure that it was a collaboration between Afrika and John Lydon, on the vocals at least.
I remember having copies of Michael Jackson's Beat It single, but those may have been my uncle's (he was a teenager at the time). ![]()
First single I actually bought: Vivid by Electronic ![]()
I really haven't got a clue as to what my first single purchase was...
no...frigging...idea...
must be all the beer...
Single? You mean 7 inch?
Oh boy.. this is a hard one, my memory isn't helping, but that must be something like Beat It from Michael Jackson. I can assure that Thriller is the first LP I ever bought myself...
(That I bought MYSELF with my own money of course, otherwise it's a cartoon song single!!)
was either reward by the teardrop explodes or it was the whole of the moon by the waterboys.
about 40p each. them were the days.
New order broke my record buying virginity. Blue Monday 12" & White lines 12"(Grandmaster Flash).

correct, they provided the vocals and the project was called Time Zone.
Assuming we're talking 7" here, my first (and only) was...
Stevie Wonder's I Just called to say I love you ![]()
It's true! Bought it for my granny's birthday, in fact...

Yep, that's true. I was never a fan of the format...
first single i can remember picking up was that ditty with the girl from american idol and that animated cat.. i was so cool back then.
to make up for it, the most recent single i picked up was FAC33 on ebay. ive always wanted to hear the 7" version of ceremony that everyone on here raves about...
and oh, its definately better than 'opposites attract'

I always wondered what happened to that cat...I thought for sure he had a promising future ahead in music :D
jesus...well, as a little tyke i had 'snow white' and stuff like that, but in my 7" buying years, it would be something like OMD's 'forever live and die,' human league's 'human,' samantha fox's 'touch me,' or bon jovi's 'wanted, dead or alive.' i'm sure there are a few others, as well, but my vinyl collection is still in storage, aching to get out!
i don't know if i actually purchased any of these with my allowance money or if my parents bought them for me for christmas/my birthday (i know human league was a christmas purchase), but these were my glory days of vinyl singles purchasing, nonetheless.
