I just read an article (in french, hence why there is no cut and paste) about a group from Montreal called The Stills which has been selected by Rolling Stones magazine as one of the 10 groups to watch in the next year.

I have no idea who they are, but what rang a bell is this part of the article:

Between lo-fi and new wave, Tim Fletcher, Dave Hamelin, Greg Paquet and Oliver Crow write misty pop songs, somewhere between Joy Division and Chameleons U.K., and dark ambiances that were on some New Order albums.

The band does live in New York City right now... they did the support for Interpol somewhere...

An album, titled Logic Will Break Your Heart will be released on October 7th, and an EP is already available, titled Rememberese, on Vice Records...

So, if you want to find any info on those, or if you have seen them live (with Interpol I presume), then go ahead and comment!

Search for Stills on Amazon turns up massive quantities of Crosby Stills & Nash.

Did you get yours Spotnick? I finally got my last Friday. Was quite happy with my purchase! Hopefully the album will be up to the singles standard.
