yup. you guys hit it on the head! we have 4 around san diego: Rei do Gado (downtown), Roda Vida (Temecula), Samba Steakhouse (Carlsbad. this is the best on ei've been to, though it has the most unoriginal name), and there is one in Pacific Beach but i've never been.

i also went to a Portugese place in Newark, New Jersey that called this skewar-style something like "rodicio." whats the difference? is "rodicio" the cooking style and "churrascaria" the type of establishment?

churrascaria means steackhouse. it is in fact the establishment. rodizio (correct me if i´m wrong, my brazilian friends) is not so much about the way it´s cooked but more about the way they serve it. people all around the establishment walking around with skewers and offering to the clients. a sort of "all you can eat" way mixtured with "no-ordering" way and with meat as the main character.

no. at least not down here. churrasco is the word that describes "meat cooked on a gridiron". in brazil churrasco has the same meaning of barbecue or the argentinian word "asado"

i don´t know anything about cut´s names in other countries. every country has its special way to cut a cow in pieces :D

What a strange thread.

I eat churrasco almost every day, I'm trying to stop living before completing 30 years. But, as I quit smoking, I'll probably get to 35.

After all, I'm in a land of meat.
