WenOrder is in New York for the NOOL get-together and he's taking and sending pictures using his mobile, while I have the task of posting them.

This is first one. ShugZV and Don, I presume. :)

I'm looking forward to receive more photographs.

Imagine if a new order fan from the early days unfortunately fell into a coma in 1984 and awoke 19 years later and is stunned to discover that the long raincoats and glum expessions of fellow New Order fans have given way to fun, frivolity and football shirts! It's enough to die of shock!

I'm fookin jealous really.

This one has been taken at Central Park.

Finally some girls on the photographs. The girl on the extreme right of the picture is Wen's wife, the other two...

Catching up on two lost decades

By Kathryn Westcott BBC News Online

A man from Arkansas, who has awoken from almost two decades in a coma, is now trying to catch up on half a lifetime. BBC News Online looks at a few ways in which the world has changed.

According to his family, 39-year-old Terry Wallis's entire frame of reference is stuck in 1984. They say that he thinks Ronald Reagan is still president but is talking non-stop to try to close the 19-year gap.

I prefer the long raincoats and glum expressions, personally. "Depressives dressing for the Depression," as I believe the former Mrs. Curtis called them.

Judging by the glasses (which match AgentWood's previous description of her eyewear), I'd say that you are right.

this is at dallas BBQ. note our 'texas sized' drinks. the one sitting between wen's wife and me is my best friend, nalo.

the drunken close-ups of us were taken later that night at iggy's bar on the lower east side.

i think knowing each other by the avatars only had more "magic", haven´t it? i never imagined ANY of the faces i´ve seen. and is not a question of beauty or ugly. it´s just that my mental pictures of some people had nothing to do with the reality! really! strange, isn´t it?

It's about a four-hour drive, I'm clear on the other side of the state (Look at a map of SC, Walhalla's in that furthest end to the left). Nonetheless, a Charleston or Myrtle Beach meetup would be ideal. :thumb:

Saw a blurb about that in USA Today this morning (I know, I know...I was in a restaurant and it was the only newspaper on hand, so don't even start). Looked up their tour dates for this summer. Unfortunately I won't be seeing them, as the closest they come are San Fran. While I'd gladly trek down there to see The Cure, since that was the closest they came on their last tour and I missed out on it, I don't think the Pistols will be getting my filthy lucre this summer. Who cares if they haven't put out any new music since 1977? I'd still see 'em.

It's definitely worth a laugh - saw them at the Phoenix Festival in 1996 and it was great punk caberet/karaoke - at least they were upfront about the reasons for doing it. As for The Cure - caught them on the Bloodflowers tour and the band was on top form, but the gig could've done with a few more classics thrown in - crowd got a bit restless after the 10th 8 minute epic in a row. OK, not trying to hijack the thread...

history of shug's new york attire:

first time i saw him: celtic home shirt. he also bought a new york yankees cap...in green.

second time: celtic away shirt.

tonight: no celtic shirt, but a green and yellow shirt.

every day: white nike trainers with a green swoosh.

tomorrow (well, today, actually), for my second tour guide trip...god only knows. perhaps something green and yellow?

for the record, don has only worn one man yoo shirt, on our first meeting on friday. coincidentally, we met another man yoo attired bloke (at ground zero)--from ireland, much to shug's dismay!

I wore the NEWORDER02 london/manchester t-shirt on our sight seeing trips to the Statue Of Liberty / Empire State and Ground Zero yesterday - we have pictures, but we'll have to wait to get them on here, we havnae got the technology with us:evil4:

aah, yes. among them a lovely pic of don, shug and i at the empire state building taken in the queue to the observation deck (souvenir photos, like), with mr. sludden representin' the order.

my mother saw the photo when i got home today and announced that she fancied don!

Imagine her reaction when she meets me :faint:

I promise new pic first thing in the morning...too pissed right now to do much  but I must say, ladies......Don and Shuggy could not be cuter.......Don is the quiet type, and Shuggy is a wee bit of the bad boy we all dream of!!!....OMG!!!! I think ive died and gone to heaven :D if you know what I mean!!!!... we went to some great celtic Irish pub called Kells......played great Irish music live and had lots of Celtic jerseys and stuff on the walls......made Don a bit unhappy, but the beers cheered him up....followed that up with a Brit pub...remined us all of England....I even had fish and chips.....played some New Order on the juke box....Ive got lots of pics....i really will post them in the morning!!!!too much fun!!! And yet she doesn't like New Order, if I recall. Coincidence? I think not. Conclusion: New Order attracts ugly people.

Am i the only good-looking and stylish person that follows 'New Order' then..?
