Any NOOL's fans of Lloyd's? His new record is worth a listen.

Any fans of Harold Lloyd out there? His old movies are worth watching. (I'm talking to you, Hibster.)

I like him with the Commotions, 'Rattlesnakes' in particular. I have yet to hear his solo stuff, though I bought a CD of his for my mother last Christmas.

harold was imho the best of the silent comedians - better than keaton, chaplin & laurel & hardy.

& his house is in westworld the movie!

have a few of his solo albums, always worth a listen when in a mellow mood

Rattlesnakes is one of my favourite albums of all-time. After Low-Life it was my next most played album at university in 1985. Down on Mission Street and Forest Fire are classic tracks best played in a darkened room, on a summer's evening with a cold can of beer in one hand and your girlfriend in the other. Brilliant stuff.

I liked his stuff w/the Commotions, haven't heard any of his solo stuff to tell the truth, except for his cover of L.Cohen's Chelsea Hotel. Pretty decent live too, from what I remember, on their first US tour, at Wolfgang's in S.F.

I know this following is not gonna come as any surprise, especially to fans of The Fall and curmudgeon MES, but ol' Mark always seemd to save some vitriol for poor Lloyd....
