For the folks on the pacific coast (US)

My band, waterline drift, is going on a week-long tour. If you can make it out to a show I'd love to meet you and, if i am not totally broke by the time we get your town, buy you a beer. Here are the dates:

do you know anything about this place "stumptown"? can you get a beer there?

I've never been there, but I've heard of it. My understanding is that it's a coffee place. I'll check it out and let you know.

There's a possibility, but I can't say for sure now. What is Stumptown, a club? Never heard of it, and I also leafed through a couple of the local free weekly rags, and didn't find mention of it.

I'll report back tomorrow on Stumptown.

all i know is that stumptown has two locations, and one is downtown. that is the one where we'll be at.

According to their website, they have one of the best beer selections in Portland. Check their calendar for August- you're on there!

we were just talking about this at practice... thankfully, we don't have any major all-night driving to do (our vancouver show got canned due to international complications. so now we don't have to travel from Vancouver to San Francisco like we thought we were going to have to do).

If you need a place to stay in Portland, you're welcome to stay at my place before driving to San Francisco. It's only the floor, but you can get some sleep at the right price.

Ahh, I stopped at the Music Millenium on Burnside and 32nd on July 23rd around 6 p.m., on the way back from Seattle, and I had to look around a bit for a place to park, as there were a lot of people wearing black leather and such going to services at that church behind the store. It wasn't till I got back to peruse those weekly rags that I found out about the accident, and realized who the services were for. It is indeed a terrible tragedy. :(

You'll be packed into my living room like sardines, but I think it's doable. Oh, there is a futon. But it won't sleep 5. :D

Oh Yeah! I'm planning on it...gotta check my work and school schedule, though. If my schedule is horribly awry, I'll let you know. Otherwise, I'll be there. Still a place to stay if you need it.

we also added an instore at a music millenium(?) for that afternoon, so if you can't make the night-time show, we'll be in the record store...

Yeah, MM is a great place to catch a band- just a music store with a stage. Very relaxed, informal, intimate, AND FREE!!!

Just checked my schedule. I work until 6PM, so I'll miss your MM show. Then I have class until 7:30PM- after that, I'm free, so I'll definitely catch your Stumptown show.

The weather has been warm and sunny. However, it's overcast and threatening to rain today. Still t-shirt weather, just overcast. Hard to say what it will be next week. Sometimes it changes from sunny to rainy, or from rainy to sunny, all in the same day. Best to bring layers so you can adjust accordingly. Most likely to be warm and sunny, though, next week.
