I Love The 80's

I was born in the 80's. 1987 to be exact but didn't live it. As we all know New Order is excellent. But what other bands and singers of the 80's would you recommend? One of my fav's is Sting and The Police. Thanx, Xeno.

I used to like the Police. But when I went to college and discovered a real radio station, I stopped listening to the Police. Now and then, I will put Zenyatta Mondatta in. IMHO their best album. And if I really need to chill out and sleep, U2's Unforgetable Fire or Brian Eno's Music for Airports.

Listen to Pet shop boys, especially the album Please. Erasure sounds like a fusion of PSB and DM on a bad day, so I would not recommend them.

i think you all forgot the English Beat. General Public may suck ass, but the beat are good! i have also noticed no mention of the Go-Go's, who are fun. the Pet Shop Boys are pretty good (especially the albums 'please','actually', and 'very') and U2 was only good for a couple albums: war, the unforgetable fire, and maybe the joshua tree.

depeche mode has been talked about enough, so i need not say more. erasure's all right if you like show tunes, and everyone else has covered the rest.

oh and before i go, i would like to stress that everyone listen to talk-talk and the smiths. goodnight.

Actually (pun intended) i own ALL the PET SHOP BOYS CD ,REMIXES and some great bootlegs.Did consider collecting all the 12 inch records in the 80's ...and the 7 inch ones.But they were so sort after then NEW ORDER records paled in comparison price wise.Just too many collecting and too numerous copies around the world.Due to the artwork not being as good i stuck with the ORDER.Glad i did cos now i realize PRICE(worth) is of no consequence to a 40 SOMETHING.Just got great memories and tales about the Order.I still think that the likes of AL as got it right though.Spending a wad following them around the world is so blloddy COOL.Money well spent and apart from the same setlists he will have seen and witnessed far more than me.Still one is never too old to change and learn.The fact that i saw the ORDER 3 times in a short space of time proves that.The crack and fun at meeting SHUGZV,AL,MICKEY WAY,JIM REIELLY,LIV,MAJOR,DON(I-D),BENNY,JEFF,VELOCITY GIRL and the infamous JOHNYY GILES,together with MUFFY(top guy) JONATHAN (4.45)and the GERMAN and BRAZILIAN lads,this has made the whole experience an HAPPY ONE.Not forgetting HOOKY'S WALLET too. jumping jack flash...this wee one was born the year I got out of high school...I feel so old now!

I finished high (or secondary as it's known here) school the same year. Just remember, with age comes wisdom, something these youngsters don't have yet. ;) (With the exception of music taste obviously!)
