Finally, during the interview many of The Cure said that they were nervous during the filming. Kinda sissy of them.

Is this just in California? Do you know if they're playing anywhere on the east coast, preferably in NYC? The Cure may be one of my favorite bands - and the Trilogy was darn good - but I'm not traveling across the country, especially when the farthest west I've been is Chicago.

But The Cure is definitely touring the U.S. next year, so it's not a long wait--especially since I probably won't be making the trip down the coast.

Bloodflowers

BloodFlowers sucked. Christ it was bad. there are a few good tunes but i played that cd once. It was almost as disappointing as Ministry's follow up to Mind. Shit. Anywho, I watched the Pornography and Disintegretion sets. Very good. Wished they did 17 Seconds instead of fartBlossums. But usually live Cure is better than studio Cure, especially with distentegretion.

I may try to catch that LA show if I can find a place to crash and someone to work for me.

I know musical tastes are a very individual thing, but for a Cure fan to say that Bloodflowers sucked that badly makes me think that you didn't give it much of a chance - I found it a deeply moving record with some of the best lyrics he's ever written, with songs that build and swirl and creep inside your head over a period of time. Whatever, I don't need to defend it - just think you're being too harsh.

As I said, I was disappointed but there are a few tracks on it that I like--Last Day of Summer, There is no If (probably the best and one of the greatest Cure songs), Where the Birds sing come to mind. I did, 2 or so years ago, have the disc in the Mercury when I drove the 5 hours to Chicago and the 5 hours back from their show at the New Music theatre or whatever that place is called just off of I-80 near Chicago. And as I said they sound better live than in the studio. I never listen to Disintegretion ever since Entreat came out. Dis lacks the emotions of the live album. But in general, BloodFlowers has not been played since that roadtrip and lies somewhere next to Wing Mood Swings and Galore. Your reply made me go look for it but I had to use the dvd to read the track listing. My daughter likes to rearrange my music on the floor. She is 2. I thought I gave it a chance.

So when I say that it sucks ass I really mean that I was so turned off that by it that it does not make the playlist. And I do not play discs that suck ass. By comparison, I have listened to Republic after the release of BloodFlowers, generally considered NO's most lack luster album. Hell, I listen to The Top at least every month. But I will get around to the BF set on the dvd and hope to be pleasantly suprised.
