Sadly with a baby on the way in the next week or so, my wife would hand me my ass on a plate if I tried to go. But I'd sure as hell love to:

since im not in high school anymore and I stopped listening to it, KROQ has become an enigma. they have this ferocious base of people who worship everything 80s and apparently still listen to it - when i dont know. but for some reason, despite the fact that they play linkin park, good charlotte and as of late all things METALLICA, on their year end lists and countdowns and whatnot depeche mode will always be in the top 3 and youll probably find the cure and the smiths somewhere in the top 20 somewhere. new order, not so much..

but ugh. where is the concert gonna be held? the blockbuster pavillion? being in the inland desert in september = not appealing

Dramarama have apparently been added.

Can I just ask what KROQ's boner for Dramarama is? I mean, that Anything Anything song is still played daily on the station. And it sucks.

Anyone get tix for this shindig?

i did. fucking lawn seats :( as soon as it hit 2pm chicago time i was there and i got lawn, still trying for better tix. already called a few brokers and will try again on saturday. do presales hold certain sections for the general sale? this is the first time i got lawn since new order in 1993. oh well. good luck to everyone else out there?

I tried exactly at 12n PT (3p ET) and it was lawn seats as well. When I reduced the number to 1 ticket, best avail. was Sec. 8 Row G. No way I'm fucking flying across country for that crap. Now I'll have to call in favors.

I'm betting KROQ held onto 95% of the tix so that they could say "tix sold out in only FIVE MINUTES". Well, when you only sell 20 tix, that is pretty easy. :nono:

I bet they only sold lawn tickets. The rest they'll probably give away 30948309 times a day. like the old PARTY IN THE PIT crap they used to do all the time.

yeah i'll never understand kroqs boner for dramarama. that song is heinous.

another unsolved kroq 80s mystery: howcome the only new order song i used to hear regularly on that station was 'paradise'?

paradise is a pretty cool song for commercial radio, all we get here now is blt om retro shows on comercial stations, in the past, it was regret, true faith, blue monday, and blt. one station 93xrt plays love vigilantes which is cool to hear on the radio.

radio stations suck, i went to a few cure message boards and all they got was lawn too. i heard this venue is 65000 people. so i thought my chances for landing seats would be really good.

if you bought through ticketmaster, you are also at the mercy of their tricks. with the intent of preventing scalping they won't sell really good seats to huge shows in cities other than the one the concert is being held in. other times they'll toss in time delays. again, this way people in the town where the event is taking place get a better chance for good seats as oppossed to people coming in from out of town, or scalper networks. it's shitty.
